I think it's officially worn off. It's been too long since we had any meaningful games against the Leafs and could call it a rivalry. I just don't have the energy to continue hating on them and there's a small part of me that is actually rooting for them this time. Feels weird. Blech. Go Edmonton and Go Lakers!

You don’t live in Ottawa right? Leaf fans are everywhere. Under no circumstances do I want them to succeed. They will be insufferable.
As a Toronto born Sens fan, i'm surrounded and the traffic and overall Leafs culture is insufferable. Thankfully I live in a suburb and limit my DT trips, but i'm hoping they don't go deep just for convenience going dt lol

My takes for this years playoffs have been hot garbage. Thought for sure Winnipeg would beat Vegas, and that NJ was just too young and inexperienced to match the Rangers.

Boy was I wrong.

Mannnn f*** edmonton, for all his bad signings, Ekholm acquisition has been a homerun for Holland. He's the perfect passer and puck moving defender for that team. Still hope LA can pull out a beatdown of Edmonton.

Honestly, I just want more hockey at this point so I hope every series goes to 7

not even close to trolling. I realize the gate keepers and the at all cost apologists may get their panties twisted up but its worth a look imo. Knies was good out of the gate you could tell early on the Leafs had a good one. That 2021 draft was heavily impacted by Covid. It doesn't look like the Sens were very well prepared for it. Knies did not lose his season like many in the CHL/ OHL. USHL produces good players every year. Still bums in the seats scouting was no doubt impacted for those needing to travel.
I like the Ostapchuk pick where we got him. He may go higher in a redraft but at the time that was about right for him I thought. Things could not have worked out much worse for Boucher but he still brings that enticing physical presence with some good tools. He has missed a lot of hockey. Really difficult to slot him very high in the lineup today. Hopefully a full season in Belleville will help sort that out.

Ego. Sens management and scouting were still riding a Chabot/Tkachuk/Timmy high and thought they knew more than everyone else.

The picks in 2021 were a classic 'smartest guys in the room' picks.

Same. I may just hit the 0-8 perfect miss this year.

I was living in Toronto during the first two years of Covid, I said if they ever won the cup I would have to leave town!

If Edmonton gets past LA they are going to breeze to the finals. The only other team that has the defence to stop them is Boston.

Uh no, there are better defenses than LA in the West, and all three of Dallas, Colorado and Vegas have the talent and depth to beat them in a series.

Winnipeg doesn't have these injuries and got vegas's bounces and they are winning. I am surprised by the Devils though.

Minnesota and Foligno have been absolutely screwed in these playoffs. It's been infuriating.

I can't watch the playoffs anymore. Those Canada's Got Talent commercials are worse than waterboarding. At least if the Oilers and Leafs make a deep run, having to put up with those horrid HORRID commercials would make their fanbases pay a price.

Assen na yo!

Sorry guys, just don't feel it strongly anymore. Give me one important game against the Senators and I'm sure it'll come rushing back, but the rivalry is dead and that is not the Domi/Tucker team I grew up to hate. That and i dislike TB too, F those guys and all their success.

He's done pretty well the last while other than Campbell. From what I can tell, Campbell and Nurse are their only bad contracts atm. Hyman was a heck of a signing in hindsight.

Dear God the embodiment and image of Alfie,

please make Ilya Smasonov let in 6 goals tonight so the city of Toronto has a 48 hour anxiety attack.

Amen

Considering they're not playing tonight, that would indeed be very concerning.

Well, I hope everyone here enjoys it if it happens. My hatred for them is born out of Senators fandom and I can't even remember the last time we had a game against them that mattered.

Unfortunately, I think they're getting over the hump this year and I think the O'Reilly pick up is going to be a big reason for that.

The OT come back from down 5-2 in the third mattered. Because it hurt. It made their documentary! :)

The best news in the TB-TOR series is that Vas' upside from his current stats is nearly limitless and he can start playing like the best goalie in the world again, at any time.

Even still, they've carried the play most of every game. Third period execution has been a disaster, but they have that "been there done that" kind of experience and that counts for a lot when you're down 3-1 in a series.

I guess you have to define “matters”, I was just lightly pointing out that stunning/embarrassing the Leafs always matters! :)

Oh ya, that one. I see what you mean. Not on my radar for "matters" I guess. I need games with some stakes to them with consequences for losing that gets some anxiety flowing, not what essentially amounts to mid season friendlies with only one of the teams in the playoff race.
