How would the Senators ever be able to replicate what Vegas has done?
It will start with new ownership willing to invest, a GM with a solid management background and a new coach with credible experience. The core is there and good management and $$$ can fill some of the holes that have existed for what seems like an eternity!

1. Trade Brady and Stu for a bunch of 2/3 liners
2. Trade Sandy and Chabot for a bunch of 2nd pairing D-men
...
N. Profit!
Ironically Vegas identified its top players and surrounded them with good players. Kinda the opposite of this and kinda what Ottawa Needs to do. The sens have great top end talent, a little too much of the same thing in Giroux, Batherson and Debrincat. But they need to be better and much harder to play against everwhere else.

From that original season they kept Smith, Karlsson, Marchessault, Theodore, Mcnabb and Cormier. Added elite talent around them go go along with a very physical big group.

FLA gets on the board 1st. Very important goal for them. Hoping they can win this won and make it more interesting.

I wish the Sens had identified Whitecloud a couple years back. He is solid as a rock.

How does tkachuk not get looked at first? Stumbles off the ice and they throw him right back out?
Edit: ok now he goes to the room.

Wth is that man?
Terrible.

It's a good start. But a Game 3 home comeback statement is pretty par for a 5-game series, let's hope they can build on this Game 4 and continue the resurgence. It would do a lot to reassure that the first two games they were just overrested.

Was a bit of a buzzkill going from Vegas to Florida.
I like the Vegas vibe. Go Stoner.

Cassidy on his D corps
“Now, here, we’re a much bigger crew and longer,” Cassidy said of his big boys on the Vegas back end. “It’s not always the physical part, but the length sometimes to get inside — that’s the system you play, your stick play or just getting into people when you’re longer and taller and heavier. That can wear people down. This year it’s been a big strength of our team.

“I think what everybody is probably looking for is the guys that are long who can still move the puck and contribute offensively but get in the way and get physical defensively. Those guys don’t grow on trees.

“Right now that’s how we’re built and it’s working for us.”

I think most people have some appreciation of this. Sens fans should who remember the Pat Quinn "built for the playoffs" quote.
You have to get there as step 1. You have to be able to do something when you do. Hopefully the Sens can fill in there roster to do both.

"There are players who help you win over the course of 82 games, and there are players who help you win in the playoffs — and obviously, if you’re lucky, you’ve got some overlap."

Apparently size does matter, who knew?
