The amount of penalties Florida takes is absurd. Its like trying to get under the opponents skin is all they can try to do. I hope DJ learns from watching this so we stay out of the box next season.

This isnt a normal playoff game for Florida. Secondly there is no way the coach is telling them to take penalties. I hope to god DJ has the sens playing like this Panthers team has in the playoffs. But they dont have the roster make up at this point without some major moves.

We're on different ends of what we want out of the teammate.

I'd prefer a team like Vegas that can stay disciplined (without Pietrangelo taking lumber jack swings at players). It's easy to play against teams that rely on the PP and chirps. I want a team that can focus on winning the game of hockey instead of winning an exchange of words. Maurice doesn't tell his players to go take penalties and be rats, but he definitely facilitates that environment.

Florida has been very disciplined all playoffs. They wouldnt be here if they werent. This isnt how they play on a regular basis this games a blow out. You think they arent trying to win?...

I was predicting this would happen.
Florida physically manhandled the East, but they're getting a taste of their own medicine against this absolutely ruthless Vegas team. Well built top to bottom with guys who some wouldn't bat an eye at. Howden? Stephenson? Marschessault - who by the way is my pick for the Smythe.

Since I’m pretty much neutral here, I’d like to see a reverse sweep or a Game 7 OT in the SCF. Something bonkers.

I would love a game 7 because that's generally the only occasion where it's really worth staying up to watch it in Europe

I have.

:cry::cry::cry:

It also happened when one team sat for over a week while the other team didn't even have to start right away but got a nice perfect couple days' rest.

:rant::rant::rant:

Pretty sure the series was 4 - 1

We won one game

I *kind of* want Florida to win but I’m really just watching for fun.

So as a non-homer — what did Tkachuk get a major for? I don’t think the hit was even worth 2, did something else happen? If it was the hit, wouldn’t the refs review it and see it was clean?

I don’t get it. Some big late hits not getting called, or a blatant hit from behind earlier in the game, and then 2 and 10 for a clean hit that was more Eichel’s fault for jumping forward into the hit than anything else?

I stopped watching after 5-1, my tiredness surpassed the fun factor without emotional investment in the outcome.

Florida is frustrated. Their game isn't quite up to match Vegas (so far), and Bob is turning into a pumpkin. That long layoff really hurt them and killed their momentum.

Crazy that the Sens let Mike Amadio slip through their fingers. What a player.

Sens 3rd and 4th lines are feared around the league. They just beat you every which way. All this talk about players they let go . Sens pro scouting says you are good you are good; it says you go , you go. Get on board. Where else can you have players that don't score 5 on 5 all year and are still being counted on to move up and down the lineup.

I’d like to see a guy like kastelic in the playoffs. Think he’ll be a good one.
And Boucher if he keeps progressing should be a big help too. Of course Greig and ostapchuk.
Our bottom 6 should be good enough. Our top 6 should be good enough. D should be good enough.
Question marks are goaltending and coaching.

Its not iffy if its clean.

Yeah did you say that against Boston too? Vegas has got every break and Florida hasn't lost a game at home yet. How many times does this Florida team have to prove to everyone they are resilient. Cousins scores in game 1 and its pretty easily 1-1.
I agree, the Panthers are resilient.

I hear a lot that there isn't a problem unless you have lost at home. But being down 2-0 to that Vegas team looks like quite an uphill battle.

I did think Boston was going to beat Florida rather easily. I didn't call for a sweep on that one. But, to be fair to me lol, everyone had Boston crushing the Panthers after a record breaking season.

If Florida wins both at home I will come back here and admit to underestimating the Panthers... again.

Down 2-0 in the series. Reminds me of when Florida was down 3-0 to Boston. :fight:
The next game will tell us all we need to know. Back to Florida, a must win, and not just squeeze the win out, but WIN. Not saying they need to outscore them something like 7:2, but they need to have a very strong showing. It can still be a one goal game, but they need to deserve to win it and not win it by scoring a few fluke goals, while Bob or whoever was making crazy saves and they got completely outplayed by VGK. If they can do that, then they have a chance. Let's see what they're made of.
