One thing I learned from watching the playoffs is we absolutely will not win a cup with Fourgiev in net. You just cannot win with suspect goaltending. There won't be a 2022 Avs in a long time.

He's been outplaying Bob since game 3. Bobovsky's goals saved above expected has been in the negative for all 3 games they lost.
For how "solid" Fourgiev was apparently he was still one of the worst goalies in the playoffs. He WAS the WORST goalie in the playoffs who started more than 10 games as well.
We need to find a way to get Saros.

Skinner might win the cup on Monday…… yes, Skinner. Goaltending is a weird position in hockey.

Yes any goalie can get hot at the right time but Fourgiev hasn't been hot since October. He literally did not steal a single game this year since October. Hell even Budaj and Theodore stole a game once in a while.
Plus there is no way in hell the locker room likes that guy. The Malinski and Rantanen incident says a lot about the guy.

Florida has been outscored 20-5 over the last 10 periods. This is insanity. They are getting their shit pushed in by the Oilers and tonight McDavid not only didn't register a point, he didn't register a single shot on goal.
We know what happens when he has a game like that. He's going to go f***ing wild in game 7.
This might honestly be the worst choke job in sports history if the Panthers lose game 7 and I think they will.

The team is the most important part. It’s all about finding goalies that don’t lose you games, assuming your roster is deep enough to handle average goaltending.
Tbf Georgiev kept us in game 6 vs Dallas longer than we had any right to be. But overall yes Georgie was a problem this year.

Florida should just rebrand as Florida P****cats at this point. they are doing the best they can to become the new embarrassment of the league after the Coyotes moved. I imagine how many fans will show up at the next season opener...

Flip side to this is it was the first time in McDavid's career Edmonton has won a game where he didn't get a point or a shot on goal. In theory, if Florida can do it again they have to like their chances. My gut tells me he responds with a massive game 7 tho.

Genuinely curious, in an alternate universe where Nuke abstains from the nose candy for a couple months and the Avs somehow pulled out a win against the Stars, do you think we would have had a shot against this Edmonton team in the Western Conference Finals?

The Avs were down 2 to 1. And scraped that one win in OT vs a tired Dallas team that had gone to war for seven games against the defending Champs.
The Avs would have gotten dunked on against the Oils.
