Tampa could use a big body up front who likes to take the Puck to the net. Would complement their finesse nicely.

The final is gonna be rags wild. I'm preparing for it as much as possible.

I'll take the Wild.

Now 2-0 Detroit. I could see Rangers vs Red Wings in the ECF. Might end in 5 with the Rangers winning too.

TB has easily been the biggest disappointment this playoffs. They might be on their way toward StLouis/SJ/Washington territory if they lose this series.

If TBL gets shutout in this game. :shakehead

From a talent perspective Tampa should be beating Detroit...but with the Yzerman angle (and being division rivals now) those organizations know each other better than they should.

You can see the influence Babcock has on the game too. His players just know where to be and when to be there.

It's only 3 games, Tampa will get their **** together. First rounds can be tricky, especially against a well coached and skilled team like Detroit.

I would hope between these two teams this would be the obvious choice for all Devils fans.

And to expand on the Wings vs Rangers ECF, I don't think Detroit is good enough to get that far.

It would just be our luck that the Rangers would get an incredibly weak opponent in the ECF. Arguably the weakest team remaining in the East that isn't Ottawa.

Not that Washington or NYI are that great either, the Rangers will feast on whoever advances there in round 2.

I think we're putting the cart before the horse atm...even if Detroit upends Tampa I still think the Habs can/should beat them. But this is why it's hard to trust a team (Tampa) with limited playoff experience. How many of those guys were even around in 2011 besides Stamkos and Hedman?

The Rangers beat Montreal too IMO.

I think the Islanders and TB are the best chances of knocking out the Rangers.

I'm gonna start rooting for the Islanders in their series. This bunch of chokers in Washington will just lie down on the tracks for the Rangers.

Well yeah but we'll jump off that bridge when we come to it. I was just talking about Habs-Wings

My main hopes for beating the Rangers are Chicago and (haha) the Isles if they could ever get that far. I wasn't sure what to make of Tampa though if they got to the ECF obviously they'd have had to show something in the playoffs so I'd have given them a chance too.

Detroit may not be contenders, but notice how fast their forwards skate.

They don't have any slow talentless hacks upfront.

Parity at work here I think. It's nice that so many teams have a chance, but there really are no powerhouse teams. Just a bunch of good teams.

There aren't really high-end teams. The Rangers and Chicago are the closest things to them but even the Hawks have a ? at goalie. The Rangers' only real question mark is their killer instinct in series, they gotta win at least one of these East series quick, which they never do. The last time they won a quick series is when they swept poor Hedberg out of the playoffs...well and one other series I don't want to acknowledge the year after.

Maybe the Ducks are a high-end team if Freddy Anderson holds up and Boudreau doesn't blow up. I've said all along with the Blues they gotta show me something, and they haven't yet.

I picked Detroit to win this series. Maybe they wont, but I was never as high on Tampa as a lot of you guys were/are.

It's not so much I was high on Tampa but I really didn't think much of Detroit after the poor way they finished the season and the fact they've had quick exits from the playoffs the last couple years. The old guard is healthy this year (Franzen aside) so that helps though, plus they've gotten better goaltending from Mrazek than they were getting from Howard.
