You don't care about how transactions happen, I do. Cool. When we start watching robots I will probably change my opinion. For me, thinking of the players on the ice as real people with real emotions draws me to watch more than the box score.
The days when players would spend a long time on one team are looong gone

Being a neutral player at 5v5 despite getting extremely favorable usage and zone starts while being terrible on the powerplay doesn't scream quality NHL player. Maybe I exaggerated. Right now he could be a decent 3rd liner against lower comp.

7 points in last 7 games for Stamkos. Seems he and the team are doing better as of late.
Trotz and Co are so bad they can't even tank right

At Stamkos' current level of play he should be thankful he is in the NHL because if his name was John Doe and he had no credentials he'd be grinding away for the Admirals right now.
Now I'm just picturing anonymous, presumably witness protection Stamkos (probably wearing an eye patch and fake nose) skating around as John Doe.

He’s going in the wrong side of 30, won his cups which was recently, is a future hall of famer, has his one last pay cheque, body has been destroyed the last decade, and probably has nothing play for anymore to get motivated easily. Of course he’s gonna decline and not give anything extra consistently if he could or wanted to. Saying he’s cooked would mean he’s incompetent though. I wouldn’t say he’s at that stage yet, he’s still an NHL player. He’s just in the twilight of his career now which happens to every player.

Turns out Brisebois offer was fair.
My thoughts. He's done a great job as a gm. He made the right move by not extending stamkos but at the same time i think he could have done a better job handling the situation. As you can see lot of fans are rightfully upset by how he treated stamkos who has been a class act as far as a franchise player goes. Maybe you don't want to do that next time. However he made the right moves on this as far as I'm concerned. I'm curious if he'd put a small offer out there stamkos would take that over the deal he got in nashville. I don't think stamkos is getting that deal anywhere else.

They offered him a $24mil deal. Looks like it was probably more than fair.

For sure but that's not the point. Before they didn't offer anything it sounds like. That can rub a player like him and others like him on that level, the wrong way and how that looked back then can stay in their minds more than what actually unfolded. You see what I'm saying? There's a right way to handle things and I think bolts fans can probably come across as complaining about this maybe too much with the teams we've been able to ice over last decade or so. I think it's just asking for more professional way of going about it. I don't think that's too much to ask and it does make your organization look better. They've been fine tho. They know what they're doing.
