Personally love them! Thank goodness they didn't put the Homeplate! Getting me one for sure!

I always loved the 2000-era crown, but thought the kit was overdone. Simplify the colors like the Vintage one and you'd have a winner!

Is it me or does Getzlaf look like he ate a little too much at Thanksgiving?

Holy crap, I haven't been in the loop because I'm on a business trip on the East coast actually working, but that Ducks jersey is hideous. It's the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Getz looking like Fred Murtz with the pot belly.

Hey Puck, don't bother the color blind folks with the facts.

Most everyone loves antiques and classic cars too.....doesn't mean we only want to drive an old car or sit on a couch built in 1920.

But I understand where you're coming from.....my dad, who is 70, has no interest in things like the Internet or iPhones, DVRs.....hell, he can barely work his remote on his TV.

KINGS17, I think you might be like my dad when it comes to the Kings.

Maybe he is your Dad, perhaps the "Dad" you've known all along is really a guy who kidnapped you from a restroom in Alabama in 1974

Just because it is new doesnt mean it doesnt suck.
The Kings black, home plate, jerseys suck.
Which jerseys did the players give their dads on the road trip?
The Kings won a cup in ugly, bland, boring jerseys so we have to deal with it. Almost every team's home jersey is black. People buy it. People buy Coors light, Justin Beiber songs, and Ford trucks. People have no taste.

Maybe you were in Alabama and left something behind? I've never been there.

Personally, I like the trend that we are seeing now where teams are returning to their roots. Philadelphia, Edmonton, Dallas, Chicago, Tampa Bay and maybe some others I have forgotten have all ditched the black crap as their primary or 3rd jerseys in recent years.

The Kings purple uniforms have clean lines and the color scheme is like no other in the NHL. They should embrace that instead of going with the colors from Luc's junior team.

The 'burger king' jersey sucked too, how many people bought one of those?

BTW, almost every team's home jersey is black? Really?

They should embrace colors that they've literally have had zero success in as opposed to the color scheme that has been in two Stanley Cup finals and a WC final? You just make more and more sense as we go along here.

Like I said people buy things that suck. You can like your Justin Bieber, Coors light, jerseys.

Now i have not counted but many teams have gone to a mostly black jersey for home games. It is what is selling/popular now. Doesnt mean it is good. Those home plate jerseys are IMO are not good. I do admit that some people like them. People liked disco, pyramid power and short shorts on men at one point as well.

Assuming this link is right, I count 4 out of 30 home jerseys that are black (Anaheim, Boston, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh) and 11 jerseys total. Boston and Anaheim have black for both their home and third jerseys. By contrast, there are 10 blue home jerseys when you include all shades of blue (not counting San Jose) and 16 blue jerseys total (17 if you include Forum Blue as a shade of blue - but I wouldn't). There are 12 red home jerseys (I included Colorado as a shade of red) and 13 red jerseys total. Seems like blue is the most common color in the NHL.

It's funny, people made fun of the Stars jerseys at the beginning of this season and I thought they didn't look bad until I saw them playing. But there are only two green jersey in the NHL. The other being the Wild's 3rd jerseys. I bring that up because KINGS17, the champion of the purple shirt, mentions how iconic the Red Wings, Blackhawks, Canadiens and Leafs jerseys are when they make up the two most used colors in the NHL. The Kings are one of four teams with a black home jersey and I think there are a lot of people would argue that the black and silver with the Chevy logo is iconic. Most people know the Kings from the Gretzky era and the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Kings. They don't remember Butch Goring, Rogie Vachon and all the old farts that never won anything with the Kings. The only people that hold that era as iconic are the people who attended games in that era. And we get it, there were very few of you to begin with and even fewer left (alive or following the team). Good for you guys but the Kings' most recognizable uniform by the masses is the Gretzky uniforms. I saw that on the internet once so it's a fact.

Yes, the unwashed masses. These are the opinions that matter. Just look around these boards whenever the Kings wear their real uniforms and you will see most fans asking, "Why don't they wear those all the time?"

And yeah, good for us we know a hockey jersey with a legit crest when we see one. When you call a crest the Chevy logo, how the hell can it ever be considered iconic? What does it have to do with the Kings other than having the word K I N G S on it? Here's an idea, maybe St. Louis should ditch the Blue Note, get a Chevy logo and print
B L U E S on it, cause that would be awesome. Sorry, but the Crown is iconic.

Quite a few people think Gretzky saved hockey in Los Angeles, and they couldn't be more wrong. He does get a ton of credit from me for helping the NHL put down more roots in the West and in the South though, so bravo Wayne. Great trade for the NHL, kind of meh for the Kings considering the expectations. What exactly did Gretzky ever win with the Kings? Did the team really meet what was expected of them?

BTW, there are many shades of red and blue. They are not all the same. There is one shade of black.

That's funny you using a clip of the design of the home plate jersey as evidence that the players don't like the vintage purple jerseys (that did not exist at that time). Get your facts straight man.

The purple vintage uniforms are absolute classics and I hope we will always wear them at least occasionally each season. They are iconic and rate right up there with classic uniforms like Toronto's , Detroit's or any other.

I like the stadium uniform, however.

I preferred the purple and black 2000 era to what we have now, but all together I still like our jersey minus the logo. I have never been a fan of the homeplate logo.

I can see how some folks would. It's not terrible considering what it appears the NHL, Reebok, and Coors gave the team to work with. It's only going to be worn once.

I think it will be twice. Read somewhere that they will wear it for a random home game. To boost sales probably.

Re: Jackass, maybe a Three Stooges reference will help you connect the dots. Jackass is like my generation's version of the Three Stooges. Some old folks think the Stooges were funny guys. Maybe you don't but the humor is in the physicality.

And there are many shades of grey. Have you read that btw? Great book!

To the rest of your post, well, my opinion is better than yours. You're wrong because the Kings don't use the purple jersey often. Wrong, wrong, wrong! You are Mr. Wrong, the Wrongmeister, Wrongerson McWrong, Long Wong Wrong, My Unlce Wrong and last but not least:

Have I convinced you yet?

Pretty sure HFBoards is not a representative sample of all fans of the team and the game. It's a very small sample size.

I don't disagree that a crown is an iconic symbol, but to say that the chevy logo is not iconic is somewhat ignorant. Iconic in this sense has to do with how well it reads to the masses (one definition: "Famously and distinctively representative of its type"). While true it doesn't inherently represent "Kings", EVERYONE recognizes that chevy logo as the LA Kings, so it is therefore iconic. Show someone the throwback crown and they probably won't know that it's the LA Kings.

If you remember prior to two years ago (and I'm sure you do), we only had two banners up at The Forum/Staples. Guess who was a big part of making that happen?

And for the record, I love the throwbacks. They're fantastic. I just don't think your arguments are helping your case.

I heard it will be worn for Fan Appreciation night on April 12th. That means some fans will walk away with authentic Stadium jerseys. I wonder if the ducks will wear their ugly duds that night...
