The Soo
a big netfront body is awesome, especially if you have Gibby firing clappers from the point. but i also think no matter what we do, our lack of depth at forward is going to be a factor. and i'd say "give the young guys" a shot at the PP, but most of them didn't report :P

I kid, i kid...

Last night they were together on 5on 3

Would you rather have two balance power, please or one good one?
On this team? You have to load up one line. There’s barely enough depth and offence to have one stud power play. So either your #1 PP scores or not. There isn’t much other option.. There’s no traditional quarterback D. And no true goalscorer on a corner. And yeah. IMO I would have Brown dealt or waived at this point, let alone be on the PP.

I would do Cloutier-Hayes-Gibson-Martin-Hilton. Sub Mignosa in for Hilton when he’s back and put Cloutier in front of net. Realistically, if that doesn’t work your SOL. Just start shooting and crash for rebounds 🙈

They’ve been mixed around a little bit but lately it seems to be something like:
Cloutier-Brown-Gibson-Martin-Hayes
Hilton-DeZoete-Andrew-Carlisle-Gillen

Brady Smith was on the first line before he went down to injury. Carlisle was moved to #2 a little while ago. Hopefully Mignosa and BMB will add a little offence here and there when they return.

if we think the hounds line-up looks weak now.
Wait until after trade deadline, when we don't have
gibson, Shenkel, allard, & possibly carlisle .

I have no basis for this other than my own opinion, but if I'm Kyle Raftis I'm keeping Carlilse and Schenkel.

Had Miller taken the reins and shown he can be a starter I think we all assumed Schenks was expendable but Miller fumbled the ball pretty badly, and it wasn't just a game or two. It was preseason and the first few games of the regular season.

And my interpretation of why Carlisle might have been named captain over Gibby was that we intend to keep Carlisle around but I have no factual basis for this assumption the he could be kept on to stabilize the ship.... just a hunch!

i agree. in a rebuilding year, you must have a steady, solid goaltender. you can't always be chasing a 4-0 deficit by the end of the first. that's worst case scenario. Also helps Charlie showcase his worth for the next level.

agree about gibby as well. I would assume Carlisle will be here the whole year, you need a vet to calm down the youngsters if stuff gets out of hand. hopefully Gibby gets a chance at a run though and we get some solid pieces back.
