I think Raftis has done great. Going into the deadline I wanted two moves, for two impact players. Raftis delivered. Personally I thought a forward and a defenseman, but Raftis opted for two forwards. The most important thing was to not half ass it - one move was not enough, and 3rd liners did not move the needle.

There will be much debate about which OA should have gone back, about whether we should have gotten a D, or a G, instead, or maybe a different forward. I welcome that (and will likely be a big part of it).

But Raftis jumped in with both feet and did what he thought was the best chance to win. Let's see how it goes from here.

All heart and soul from Alex and Connor but 11 goals between the two. Your energy guys need to be secondary scoring guys too. We just saw it this road trip…

We got one of the bigger fish at the deadline without giving up an 24 2nd, Virgilio, or an 07 first rounder(Martin).

Pay to play

I don’t think Hounds are done.

I feared kostov was going to be involved but as an '06 I didn't think he was untouchable either. he will not be fun to have in our division as a 19 year old. i don't known much about frasca but having a 6'4 neckbeard this spring seems like solid move. I'd still like to see us add a reliable vet on defense.

and the storyline of having the two hayes brothers making a run together is perfect. hopefully we get the best of both of them in the playoffs

Still have a 2nd, 5 or 6 4ths and brown. Can maybe send everything for another shut down d and a 3rd line centre?

Crazy to think the 3rd line wingers will probably be cloutier and mignosa. That's wild. If Martin didn't have such good chemistry with Hayes Jr, I'd have him as the 3rd line centre and brown as the 4th line centre.

We are definitely more skilled after today, but I'll miss kostov in thr red and white for the next few years for sure

I would think that adding a blueliner is off the table since we didn't move one add don't really need one. A depth forward makes more sense. We couldn't even put 12 guys out there before the trades.

Michael Podolioukh on Niagara is an obvious fit for a couple of later round picks. He fills a role this season and next. Niagara has 6 viable OA candidates and would be wise to move one now.

Okay, as a very casual fan. Seems obvious they are making a run which was always the play this year with the aspirations they had with the Memorial Cup bid and the current position in the standings. London seems like a Red hot team and Saginaw is hosting, where do we stack up? Thanks in advance to the fans who actually follow the league.

The Greyhounds have proven to be the better team in the first half of the season, but the right additions can change things.

Owen Beck would be comparable to the Travis Hayes addition, but he doesn't want to report to Saginaw at the moment. They added a player as good as Jacob Frasca for free already, in Josh Bloom.

I'm not yet convinced that London will make big additions, given the strength of their 05 core. They will still be dangerous with a defense as good as the Greyhounds and the best goaltender of the 3 teams.

I like the Hayes move. It was expensive, but he's exactly what we needed. Losing Kostov is really going to hurt down the road and while I like Clattenburg, he fits a bit better with Flint's timeline.

The Frasca move I don't understand. First of all, is he even better than Sirizzotti? Second of all, why not trade D'Intino instead? It probably made no difference to a non-contender like Barrie.

He'll be a good net-front presence on the PP, so that's good. It's just extraordinarily pricy for a marginal upgrade.
Agree, like the Hayes deal, tough to lose 2 heavy forwards who would be monsters next season but that's the cost of doing business. Would have liked to see Brown go in place of Kostov or Clattenburg.

I think maybe Jax Dubois would have been a better option then Frasca. Swap Dintino and picks for Dubois and keep Sirizzotti. A package around Konnor Smith and Dubois would have been a good get.

Still like these trades and expecting a great run with Hayes and Frasca, alot of size and experience should be valuable in playoffs.

Wonder if anymore tweaks coming?

That's a very different tone now from Raftis compared to what we have heard to date.

Remember, the plan going into the deadline was 1 or 2 moves. Doesn't sound like anythimg else is coming.

Was he aggressive though? We have a hole at F and still need a Dman, if not, I’m not happy with his original comments. Just my opinion. It would feel half assed, to me.

I still think there are players in play..

I definitely would like to see a defenseman added. As happy as I am with the progress of little BMB and Evans I don't want to see much of them this spring.

I think they will try Frasca centering Allard. Still have Brown at 3C

I have a hard time seeing Frasca outside the top 6 whether it's at C or on the wing. Are we going to put a PPG player we paid a good price for on the 3rd line?

Bmb is a C though and had the third best face off percentage last year of all players. Just no way he is going to be move to wing now.

I’m thinking BMB 1, Allard 2, Frasca 3, Martin 4. This team rolls 4 lines all day anyway, it’s the traditional 4th line. You gotta be strong down the middle for this run especially if Saginaw is adding Beck….

I'd swap out Allard with BMB for 1st line

Beck Allard G. Hayes
BMB Martin T. Hayes
D'Intino Frasca Cloutier
Fantino Brown Vader
( those are the line i would go with < not a big fan of the 4th line though )
Beck and G. Hayes playing on a line could get nasty either way....Beck the playmaker and Hayes the goalscorer, I think we're in for a treat

Beck Allard G. Hayes
BMB Martin T. Hayes
D'Intino Frasca Cloutier
Fantino Brown Vader
( those are the line i would go with < not a big fan of the 4th line though )
Also Mignosa you forgot to slot in somewhere

I'm hopeful another 03/04 Dman can be brought in. Something along the lines of Braden Hache in Saggy. Realize they're tough to find and get, but super valuable down the stretch. Would Connor Punnett in Barrie be a similiar player to Hache and possible target? Do understand # 38 would likely be the odd man out.

Like that Kyle made two big moves, just think one more is needed to have a good chance.
