Will fix everything

Finally got myself a Lego set after wanting one for so long. Cost/room to display will prevent them from becoming a hobby though.

The room to display issue is real. I used a closet organizer mounted on my office wall to hold several thousand dollars of Lego Star wars sets.....let's just say I didn't do a proper job mounting it.

Long time coming but if anyone wants to check out my short story collection, it's now available as an ebook on Amazon (as opposed to paperback only), and free for anyone with Kindle Unlimited

Curious as to why you went with a King reference in your title?

Also, a friend of mine claimed that authors like Barker, Ellison and Ligotti are well known and respected in the states. Is horror treated like any genre in the states? Are there more household names than King?

Crime is pretty much the only thing that gets attention here in Sweden.

Believe it or not, it was not intentional. The title was something that I came up with back in 1998 for a novel I was working on at the time. It just kind of stuck with me over the years and felt like a good fit for a collection of short stories that meandered between psychological horror and bizarre settings.

I think in general people in the United States aren't particularly fans of short stories. I think to have a successful short story collection, it needs to be written by a big name author. My writing has been compared multiple times to Ray Bradbury, and occasionally to Neil gaiman. Once or twice I've heard Stephen King, but frankly I'm not much of a fan of his.

people don’t really read in america. the books that get big are memoirs by famous people or boomer self-help books. i think even if you asked most people something basic like ‘what is the national book award?’ they probably would have no idea what you were talking about. anyways i am kind of a book snob, but that’s my two cents. no household authors unless they were famous for other stuff

Query sent out for the novel I finished earlier this year. I'm generally a pretty self-deprecating guy, but goddamn this is a good book. If you like They Live or Escape from New York or anything William Gibson, I think you'd dig this.

My dad and local (Buffalo) uncle were voracious readers, as was my Buffalo grandfather. They always had several library books each. Unfortunately, with all the work and house projects I have, I really can't look forward to reading for pleasure until I retire.

I have developed the habit of reading on my lunch break. Getting away from screens (unless I'm reading on the Kindle app on my iPad or iPhone) is good for my mental wellbeing.

I regularly take out a variety of books from the main library here in town about once a month. It seems to be cookbooks, growing things, and history seem to be things I pick up often enough.

School unhappy after soccer opponent sets record for goals
KINGSLEY, Mich. (AP) — A high school soccer player in northern Michigan broke records for most goals in a game, but not everyone is cheering.
Kevin Hubbell of Benzie Central, one of the best players in the state, scored 16 goals against Kingsley. The Sept. 29 game was declared over at halftime — a 17-0 wipeout of a winless team.
That’s why some people are upset.
“To go after a personal record like that at the cost of another team’s dignity was a little uncalled for,” Kingsley coach Tim VanWingerden said. “Soccer is not the right place for that. Soccer is a gentleman’s sport.”

Quit whining and be a better coach. The kids have to learn life isn't fair.

If I was the AD of that HS, I am wondering why the coach wasn’t giving the younger players playing time against an overmatched opponent.
