What's Murphy on? Homered in six consecutive games, they're on a roll heading to the World Series and have as good of a chance as the Royals or Blue Jays to win it all.

I'm honestly surprised the guy doesn't get intentionally walked at this point. I wanted the Dodgers to do it several times.

Mattingly, Dodgers part ways.

Won't matter who the manager is unless they severely tweak this roster. There are holes everywhere and a huge one if Greinke isn't re-signed.

You're right but this was the biggest hole this team had. He was terrible.

Edit

Just read the article, I can't believe they offered him a contract over the weekend. Thank god he turned it down. Not sure things are going to change that need to if they were stupid enough to offer him a contract.

I really hope the Mets win it all this year. Such a likable team and they were so underrated coming into the Playoffs. Plus Murphy is playing out of this world and is still so humble about it.

Utah is at USC this week. Looks like a trap game for the Utes to me. They will be favored, but I think SC wins this one.

Mattingly actually already had a contract that extended through 2017. He will be paid his remaining salary regardless of whether he signs with another club or not.

Even if you don't think Mattingly is the core problem and I don't think he is, he was definitely a side problem at least. The guy is not a motivator and some of his lineup decisions especially in the playoffs leave you scratching your head. Like, leaving Puig on the bench in an elimination game. Not playing Utley after having him available in New York.

He seems too...nice.

I think that was part of the problem. He seemed too much of a "players' manager". The dodgers need some plate discipline, and I don't think Mattingly did much to improve that. But then again, I suppose you can also blame the front office for having a roster full of free swingers.

For next year, I'd have Turner at 3rd, Gonzo at 1st, Grandal catching and Seager at SS, and hopefully have different players filling out the remaining spots.
