Might not be that long, depending on how they go about building a D corps. But it could be 5 years. I don't think Helle would want even a 2 year wait. He isn't getting any younger.

IF we trade Helle and that starts an exodus I would look at trading Josh to SJS. They need D and Josh is one of the best. Maybe we get Misa for Josh, or will Smith.
That is what I’m thinking San Jose if we got either or I’d be extremely happy and would be a huge win I would honestly add to make that deal solve our future 1C

While I largely agree, there is the side of me saying…”they wouldn’t be spooking the fans if they weren’t serious”

With Dreger being so upfront about it, it now has meat on the bone. Now too much smoke for there not to be fire under it.

It sounds to me like a lot more than just listening to offers. If Helle hasn't exactly demanded a trade he has at least let Chevy know that he would be open to a trade. That is the very least.

If I'm Florida, and I think that Hellebuyck only wants to he traded to Florida, I'd probably hem and haw past the draft and hope that Hellebuyck turns up the heat a bit on Jets management. It's a gamble but I can't really see Hellebuyck wanting to go elsewhere right now.
Chevy can just grind it out into the late summer or longer if he needs to. He has 5 years of control and a winning season can change attitudes. Florida doesn’t have a signed goalie for next season so they have some urgency. This is Chevy’s moment to get the return he needs and I don’t think he blinks.

Jets are not shopping Hellebuyck straight from Dreger.
A player is pissed off at not making the playoffs and sends management a message and everybody thinks he is asking for a trade.
Newsflash if a player is fine with missing the playoffs you trade him asap.
Only one week until the draft and this girl gossip ends. :D
Dreger ... "I think he wouldn't mind a change" ... I need more clicks.

There was reports Jets meeting with 1-2 guys at the combine who are way back from the 8th OA……or they just want a draft pick to draft or trade
if those reports came from the hockey writers then they were written by A.I, unless you believe that malhotra is going to fall because the jets didn't meet with him or chase reid would be honoured if we traded up for him because he spent a day with colin miller earlier in the season and he told him how beautiful the city is

that "person" also just wrote an article about how dreger pumped the breaks on the helle rumours after he appeared on overdrive last night lol

There is a lot more to it than missing the PO. A lot. And it has all been covered here to death.

I know I see it every day on social media.
Any team that needs a goalie a trade for Helle is in the works … the latest today it was the leafs.
I just want to hear one comment from the Helle camp that he wants out.

That = a DEMAND for a trade. He may not be at that point. Or he is at that point but doesn't want to be a dick about it. Silence doesn't prove anything, one way or another.

Who were those guys?
There’s a writer at Hockey News named “Jake Tye”. He has churned out a ton of Jets related articles. Whether he’s a real person or A.I., who knows. But his bio does list he went to college in Mississauga area. So there’s that.

He mentioned there’s “murmurs” the Jets may be willing to move down. And one of the players they could be considering in a trade down is Mathis Preston.

He also wrote another article saying the Jets could explore trading down for Malte Gustafsson. He's ranked in top 10 in some ranks, so might be risky trading down if he’s their ultimate target.

I don't think Florida will either if the ask is #9 and Lundell. The Panthers do have other goaltending options if it came to it.

What did you see last year that would say that this team can have a winning season?

Not sure if they can have a winning season, but we are more likely to if Chevy gets his price and if not Helly plays goal for the Jets. The worst chance is if Chevy caves, but that seems unlikely historically speaking.

Was looking through the 31 other teams in league. Would LA Kings be a possible trade destination for Hellebuyck? Don’t think they’ve been discussed much. They have Kuemper and Forsberg signed for 1 more season.
