Yeah Id say Dreger weighing in means the smoke is fire...
so it seems like the jets will trade helle for a 2C++

However rubbed-the-wrong-way he (allegedly) feels about the Jets org not having some in-game tribute to his Medal of Freedom, I think it would pale in comparison to how rubbed-the-wrong-way the live fan reaction to that tribute would leave him...I thought he read the room well when he mentionned that he was aware of how Jets fans would be rooting for Canada and winning gold with the USA would dissapoint them
I wonder how much of the anti-American semtiment (especially directed towards his wife online) played a role. We judge Maple Leaf and Habs fans for doing shit like that, but there were more than a couple of Jets fans who crossed the line, I'm sure
Wasn't it you who made a list of things management could do to attract/maintain talent? Perhaps "recognize your best player for his accomplishments" should be on there?

Catch 22, we are very unlikely to win the cup as currently configured but if we traded him for the right pieces, we might be a lot closer. Same goes with anyone else who wants out Schiefele KC Morrisey, etc.. with the right trades we might actually get a lot better.Helle said himself he wants to win, the cup is the only thing that matters to him, if he feels we cannot win the cup (which lets be honest we probably cannot) then I would say no he doesn't.
Now the question becomes, does he want out right now or does he want to wait another year, maybe he is seeing what Chevy can cook up or maybe he is already part of those cooking plans, we should know more in a couple of weeks me thinks.
I don't think they're going to want either. Barron's an okay 3rd liner. He's not Prime Lowry or anything. He's decent. Good guy to have. Not a rainmaker in a Hellebuyck for 9th and Lundell deal.I can’t see them wanting Barron over a young kid like Lambert…they can play Lambert in the 3C hole and hope he progresses enough to be 2C or the the very least a top 6 W
I’d say you are wrong on both accounts… Barron should be our 3C right now and Lambert would 100% be claimedI don't think they're going to want either. Barron's an okay 3rd liner. And Lambert? He's a total throw-in. I don't even think he gets claimed off waivers.
Get us Lundell or Helenius and it’s a win…then we can spend the offseason looking for goalie(s)So now… Lundell is a 2C.. Helenius was playing 2C by end of the season...
Dreger just broke the news that the Jets might be trading Helle to Florida or Buffalo!!!!
True, but you can build a team with a common identity and one that a competent coach could mold into something better.I want change also but I don't think a different GM changes a darn thing. Can't trade weather, high taxes etc
Yeah, I don’t see FLA wanting Barron because he is what he is…a 3rd line C…but Lambert has the potential to become a top 6 player and that’s more what they would be looking for as Lindell is their future 2C…I’d say you are wrong on both accounts… Barron should be our 3C right now and Lambert would 100% be claimed
All I can say about any trades, is that it had better be a bona fide 2C with term and youth, and not someone with baggage who will want out right away. We have done far too many of those trades and that’s put us where we are now.

Lowry's season was hampered by injury. But yeah, Barron probably should've been 3C last year. Not sure about next year...depends on Lowry.I’d say you are wrong on both accounts… Barron should be our 3C right now and Lambert would 100% be claimed
I think it's fairly obvious that the jets wouldn't trade their 3x vezina 1x hart winning goalie for someone without term lolAll I can say about any trades, is that it had better be a bona fide 2C with term and youth, and not someone with baggage who will want out right away. If ANYONE can wrestle that kind of return out of a GM, it's ChevyLundell + 9 would be the dream but I would be shocked if Florida gave that up - maybe if we include a guy like Barron for their 3c hole but idk
I think lowry will be back to normal next year, it seemed like his skating was fine but he lacked strength, an off season of actually being able to train will get him back to where he wasLowry's season was hampered by injury. If the Jets waived Lambert and he gets picked up, that other team has to have a spot for him in the NHL or the Jets just reclaim him when they waive him. And I just am having trouble picturing a team that has a spot for Brad Lambert in their lineup.
As down as I am on Chevy, he does have two teams that are missing a goalie to be real cup contenders… and both teams have connections to TNSEGet us Lundell or Helenius and it’s a win…then we can spend the offseason looking for goalie(s)
I would hope not, but we have seen far too many trades for top six centers that have squandered draft positions and assets. I’m not usually negative in these cases, but I don’t think it’s obvious at all.I think it's fairly obvious that the jets wouldn't trade their 3x vezina 1x hart winning goalie for someone without term lol
I thought he only had a temporary fix to his hip, but still needed a permanent fix? I could be wrong, but I thought that’s what I had heard.I think lowry will be back to normal next year, it seemed like his skating was fine but he lacked strength, an off season of actually being able to train will get him back to where he was
I’d rather do the FLA deal because we get 2 top 10 picks to help with the futureAs down as I am on Chevy, he does have two teams that are missing a goalie to be real cup contenders… and both teams have connections to TNSE
Completely unrealistic goals… or not?
9OA, Lundell and Samoskevich
20OA, Helenius, UPL and Mrtka
Obviously Chevy throws someone into the deal - but Dreger has told us the ask...
Now that Ehlers is gone we can start arguing about Barron’s analytics haha - I think there is untapped scoring potential there… and I think just like Copp the Jets have him ‘labelled’ as a third line support piece as bestYeah, I don’t see FLA wanting Barron because he is what he is…a 3rd line C…but Lambert has the potential to become a top 6 player and that’s more what they would be looking for as Lindell is their future 2C…
Helle + Lambert + for #9 + Lundell
They can have Helle + Yager + if that gets us Lundell
did we trade laine for a rental?I would hope not, but we have seen far too many trades for top six centers that have squandered draft positions and assets. I’m not usually negative in these cases, but I don’t think it’s obvious at all.
I see Barron as our 3C Lowry replacement…drop Lowry to 4CNow that Ehlers is gone we can start arguing about Barron’s analytics haha - I think there is untapped scoring potential there… and I think just like Copp the Jets have him ‘labelled’ as a third line support piece as best
Mrtka is a 9th overall pick, Helenius 14thI’d rather do the FLA deal because we get 2 top 10 picks to help with the future
I missed this. Where did dreger say anything?Yeah Id say Dreger weighing in means the smoke is fire...
Doubt that helle waives for the ducks… plus I heard Carlsson is wanting outwhat about the ducks, if they are down on dostal then maybe a package around mctavish dostal and one of their young defensemen
