Cherry pick all the stats you like, we all know Kravtsov looked better my man. The biggest knock against our team is skating and Kravtsov's skates melt through the top layer of ice like a knife through butter, he does crossovers with style & grace building up momentum while his gorgeous dirty blonde locs blow in the wind. He's a true marvel to watch.
you didn't mention his beautiful locks and charming smile too

I don’t see this. Like, at all.

He was on a 16 point pace over an 82 game season in his limited time last year. I’m supposed to believe he’ll score 40 points (at mostly even strength since PP1 will still get the bulk of the 5v4 ice time) because of a modest bump in ice time?
Kravtsov is seen as a higher ceiling player than Buch was, no?
Buch paced for 40pts his first NHL season & that was with pretty poor minutes and a bad coach in AV. Kravtsov should get at least that

They're not really cherry picked, they are what they are. 26 games was literally half of last season.

Kravtsov looked better for a part of that stretch (where he was getting shafted production wise because of who he played with. Quinn was an idiot for not bumping him up when he was going), he didn't look better for most of it though.

The Gerard Gallant system is I think going to result in some slightly less sexy individual offensive production numbers, with the trade off of fewer chances allowed against.

Not sure Panarin is going to be on pace for 120 points this season.

I think the team makes a big difference, Vegas is a very well rounded depth team with little star power. I don't think the best winger in the league is going to suddenly stop scoring lol

If Kravstov is gonna be on that line Strome is gonna have to bite the bullet and play defense

Mika’s contract is going to come in around 8.5 to 9 million over 7 years

He’s a top 20 center in the league, these guys get paid, flat cap be damned. He’s probably getting better offers than that if he hits UFA

Hope it's tradable then.

It’s not that I don’t hope so, it’s that I don’t think so.

A 21 year old rookie with 4 points last year is gonna explode for 40 points playing third fiddle in a role that typically hasn’t produced a lot of offense?

Whether anyone thinks he will or not doesn't particularly matter. The Rangers made the commitment to Kakko and Kravtsov when they traded Buch. This year won't be any better than last year if they've gone from a 60-70 point Buchnevich to a 30 point Kravtsov. 30 point production from a top 6 winger is a failure.

I don't think that will happen, though.

It's entirely possible that Panarin and Zibanejad get loaded on a line too.

I'm not opposed to it either. Having an all out offensive juggernaut line is hardly a bad thing and we have (or I think we have) the depth behind it to still be able to ice quality behind them.

...But this is also why I'm annoyed that Strome is still here. I'm VERY confident that Chytil could already out defense Strome if given the opportunity, but if they don't go all in on a super line, that likely doesn't happen because of his history with Panarin.

He's almost more of a hinderance than he is an asset for us. You can't play him down in the lineup because his effectiveness is really tied to Panarin (sans the 9 games AP missed where he was still productive, but we have the rest of his career as a larger data set), he may snake away PP time from a kid (not to mention a good LH shot is the only thing missing from that top PP unit) blocks someone like Chytil from getting an expanded role at ES and he isn't diverse enough to really bring anything else to the table. His calling card is literally that he doesn't drag Panarin down.

Well I'm of the mindset that this team made a commitment to taking a step they were/are not ready to take. Penciling Kravstov in for 40 points reeks of when people were pencilling Kreider in for top 6 duty in 2013 and him not being remotely ready for it.

Eichel changing agents at the very least means he’s getting restless and Fish wasn’t moving things along as quickly as he’d like

whether Brisson can do that who knows
