I don't think I ever got as upset as I was last night with a Rangers game this season. I found it to be a pathetic showing. Allowing Carolina to come into our building, push us around (because we didn't wanna get hurt? haha, make me laugh) and defeating us twice in a couple of weeks time. The only pathetic explanation would be that they really didn't mind ending up in second place and playing Pittsburgh or Washington. Somehow, someway, they seemed like they didn't want first place where they would possibly have matched up with Tampa Bay or Boston. In my opinion, that's the only pathetic explanation I could come up with. Even that makes no sense to me, that they would be happy to lose on home ice with faithful, paying customers walking out unhappy. Again I'm not happy right now.

Carolina's good.

We've beaten Florida twice and Tampa three times if we're going to play that game.

Carolina is the team to beat from my POV, has been all year.

I hate RBA and am starting to build up a real dislike for many Cane players. But if I am ever going to take a loss, it’s against a team like the Canes which really forces you to take steps as a team to compete against them.

Rooney is a momentum killing player.

His inability to handle a simple outlet directly led to the 3rd goal against. Yes there were other mistakes there, but if he gets a handle on something EVERY PLAYER at this level should be able to do, it doesn't happen.

We can totally take Carolina.... IF Rooney and Reaves don't play.

mika fell down like 3 or 4 times for no reason today
tripped over the blue line (wasn't called), got destroyed behind the net illegally (wasn't called) and Niedereiter felt the need to crosscheck him down. This is the shit that I don't understand HOW they allowed them to get away with.. Think our "savior" was right there watching. You don't ALLOW an opponent to do thius to you at HOME. IDC, if that meant 20 minutes on the PK, who cares.......right? They didn't seem to mind losing. With the game literally OVER, all of a sudden they put on a FAKE show, for the fans. Told GF, they would score to make it a "game" with 32 sec. left. Well, okay it was a minute and 2 sec. but, whatever.
Been concerned with Mika and said so about 3/4 games ago. Something is wrong. Not playing daredevil and coughing up everything.

I think Rooney has real playoff game potential with the way he plays.

Last night was a stinker for him but it’s Reaves, not Rooney I’m taking out when Kakko is healthy.

Hunt-Rooney-Goodrow could be fine if they play dump and chase.

I don't mean to pile on a nothing 4th liner but it's seriously impressive how AWFUL Rooney is with the puck. Can't make passes. Can't receive passes. Shit at cycling. Can never get in position to receive the puck. He's just horrendous with it, like he's playing with a stick with no blade. He's only in the NHL because he's physical and "plays" center.

This is not to absolve Reaves who is also simply atrocious but at least he can make a damn pass.

We're missing Motte not just cause he was good but he kept Reaves out of the line-up, and Rooney was hurt.

In a bad way.

He messes up the most basic of plays on the regular. I don't know what happened to his game over the summer, he's been so bad this year.

Reaves is clearly worse, but Rooney shouldn't be playing if everyone gets healthy either.

While Mr. Stone hands deserves his share of criticism, Schneider shit the bed there.

not sure what the f*** Braden was thinking in that spot. Had he not wandered into the neutral zone, there is NO goal in that spot.

Rooney messed up, but that was still 1000% preventable.

Rooney has the potential to make me headbutt my tv followed by the tv thanking me for putting it out of its misery.

I'd run 7D before I play Rooney and anybody who knows me knows I like 7D as much as Torts liked Stu Bickel.

Can't wait for him to be good in the last two games followed by the Rangers just going back to what they had.

Braun has been clearly better than Nemeth to the eye test of late and here we are, so yeah I don't expect many unorthodox decisions from GG.

That also goes to your point about 7 defensemen. I think it can work- Goodrow Chytil and Lafrenere could always do with a couple extra shifts a game, but it makes a lot more sense if it was a Zac Jones as the 7th guy rather than Braun with Nemeth, which is a bit redundant.

Jones lets you trot him out for 9-10 minutes in the offensive zone and gets serious shelter. Rotate him in with Schneider and Braun to improve zone exits. Of course it'd never happen.

How about we skip the unorthodox thing and just go with Jones-Braun?

That's very orthodox.
