My takeaways from this game...

1) We desperately need a dependable 2nd pairing to emerge. Maybe Miller-Trouba can be that but we will see

2) Chytil has the wheels, just needs to polish his game a bit.

3) Eichel was invisible

4) A bit concerned that this screening problem for Shesterkin is going to become a thing that's noted around the league. He's small and struggling to pick the puck up a lot.

Something has to be done about Mika. He is hurting the team. You can't be that much of a weak link and keep getting all the prime offensive minutes. PLEASE switch it up

I missed half the game but he created the first and second goal, how bad could he have been?

Our roster half sucks and Mika is crap. We should almost never win. Shesty was great; Fox and Lindgren were great. Hajek and Miller were good. Buch had a strong first 5 minutes and great snipe by Kreids. Not a good team.

If that was a tryout for Eichel he can play here but he centers the 4th line lol, the guy couldn't look less engaged

He has the "get me out of here" body language that Dubois had at the end in Columbus.

The one thing I took from this game is that Eichel is content to play on the perimeter and doesn’t get into the dirty areas. I’ve pointed this out before. He doesn’t pay the price and isn’t a winning hockey player.

Not my kind of guy.

Brett Howden szn. But that might have been the first game where almost all the depth guys really struggled at the same time.

I thought Mika was okay tonight. What they do with him, who knows, gotta be one of the most confusing situations in the league. They couldn't have found a star for Shesty?

the 4th line and bottom 4 D were all atrocious. complete black holes on the ice

really f***ing fortunate fox and lindgren exist. it was a shooting gallery with them off the ice.

Except for the amazing play in the last few minutes where he shielded the D-man held the puck and flicked a backhand pass to Reinhart on the door step who was stoned by Shesty. Eichel has mad skills.

Trash game. Barely hung on against a horrible Sabres team in disarray. managed a paltry 19 sog. I would rather have lost this game, would have at least put more heat on Quinn's seat.

I'm with you man but Quinn isn't going anywhere this year. I would rather win (even as poorly as they played). I just want this team to find a way to get to winning games and make this season meaningful for the young guys.

I thought Strome was decent tonight. Chytil has the legs but he had trouble with the puck. Hopefully just rust. Zibanejad made a nice pass to Buch for the first goal but was complete ass the rest of the game. Lindgren and Fox are so good, the rest of the D is horrible.

play the year out; develop the kids. Next year, PDG, Howden, Lemieux, and Rooney have to be gone or scratched most nights. Really like Gauthier's game tonite. Blackwell is a problem everywhere but when he is driving towards the net. Never knows that to do with the puck in the D zone or neutral zone; Really low IQ.

The times he had the puck, he was really good. The D had a hard time all night transferring the puck to the forwards, and Buffalo simply had the puck more all game.
