It'll be a bigger deal for those who get the digital-onky consoles. 648GB of usable space at this point is head scratching, especially with no vetted alternatives.

I agree, and you can't even offload ps5 games to a external hard drive at the moment. I hope it's coming in an update and it's not an intentional omission being done for anti-piracy reasons. If it's the latter it could be years before that feature is added

I'll try to keep everyone up to date here once pre-orders open up again. I need to get one for someone. Seems like all the major retailers are going to release some preorders on Thrusday. Sites like walmart are doing them in bursts throughout the day.

The "next batch" will be black friday. Some places just doing in person (like gamestop -_-)

Sort of. I've been charged by best buy and see an "as early as Nov 12" on the order status but I'm not sure if I'll be getting it then.

My card was charged by GameStop last week and received an email saying it was getting “prepared to ship” and they said I would get an email when it shipped. I paid for the expedited shipping so I’d get it on launch day, but if it doesn’t ship today I don’t know how that’s going to happen.

I'd sign up for FedEx Delivery Manager if I was you. I ordered a PS5 bundle through GameStop and got the same "is getting ready to ship soon" email. When I check FedEx there's a package coming from GameStop that appeared yesterday with a expected delivery date of Thursday.The package doesn't look to be in FedEx's hands yet so I don't know if that date is actually going to happen but there's definitely a tracking number there.

It still just says "preparing for shipment" when I check the order status on GameStop's website.

It just showed up last night.

Is it getting sent to your home address? The same name that you signed up for FedEx with (ex: Dan or Daniel)? That's how it knows where to look.

Yeah, mine is totally blank. Address and name are the same. I just don't think they've created a label for mine just yet, which probably means I won't get it Thursday. Hopefully by Friday. I was part of the "2nd wave" of preorders, so maybe that's the issue.

Btw, make sure that your method of payment is still valid. I changed debit cards and forgot so my order didn't go through intitally.

My pre-order is just an instore pick-up. I don't have the excitement of it arriving early, but I do know it will be there for me on Thursday. Sadly I'm working 84 hour weeks until the end of the month though. After that its a glorious lay-off for me and my ps5 to get to know each other.

The payment was "authorized" on my credit card for the last week and a half, that has since disappeared and my shipping status is still "in progress."

Reading about delays with the xbox, I kind of expected similar with playstation. Nothing to do with Sony or Microsoft. Seems like carriers & sellers are having logistic issues due to the sheer volume.

I expect this to continue until the New Year due to all the holidays.

My friend who ordered an XSX through amazon Canada didn't get any updates until Monday night when it said it was just leaving the depot in Ontario. He ended up getting it in our small town in Saskatchewan yesterday on launch day, so there is still hope.
