Hmmm, 30% increase is tricky.

Seems like a lot. Looking back on this year so far, though, I've played Kena, Spiderman, Bloodborne (again), Nioh 2, Returnal, Shadow of the Colossus, and Deathloop through PS and at least parts of CoD: Cold War, NBA 2K22, FIFA 22, Alan Wake, Death Stranding, Humanity, Prey, Blasphemous, Wolfenstein 2, Erica, and Little Nightmares.

I really should go back and finish some of these, but even waiting for sales or buying used disc copies of all these games, that's probably more than $140, no? And I've still got 4 months of the year.

On the other hand, maybe it would be a good thing to not waste my time anymore with games like CoD, NBA, or FIFA.

Definitely a lot of value in the games available. For me the issue is in the time I have these days. I likely get through 2 big single player games a year, at best 3. With that, I may as well just buy the physical copies of what I want to play.

I have 10 more months of my current subscriptions. I think my goal will be to try and get through as many of the smaller Indie titles as I can.

Just in case you want to go ahead and re-up for another year, you have until September 6th from the looks of it before the price hike goes into effect. Thinking that I will be doing this.

Good look, thanks.

Apparently I picked up another one at some point, so I'm good through April 2025 already. Will probably see how it's going in a year and a half before I buy another one.

Playstation is certainly not going downhill lol.
I play PS about 98% of the time nowadays and I must say that it is behind Xbox when it comes to the gamepass feature and then Sony decides to hike it on top of that. Now the live versions of both systems are useless to me because I don't really play online anymore, but I understand if people are ticked off about this. Not a smart move and definitely could be seen as a start towards going downhill but very far from panic.

Nier, Civ 6, various Star Oceans, and Odin Sphere is a bad month to you?
Anybody who wants to play Civilisation will have done so on a PC
I've never heard of Odin Sphere and it seems to be a 7 year old JRPG, I bet it's very different from all the other JRPGs out there
So are Star Ocean games
Nier is what, over ten years old?

Everybody's different but I don't see this selling the service to many people

Odin Sphere is actually a PS2 game that was too demanding for the hardware at the time and had severe framerate drops. They then re-released an enhanced edition on more modern platforms.

I own it and i think it's a great and fun game. I love the visuals, the different characters, narratives and the storybook presentation.

Of course it's not perfect.Combat can be repetitive at times and you have to beat certain bosses multiples times with different characters which can be a bit of a chore after a couple of times.

The game is not very long and gets to the action quickly which makes it perfect for those that want to play but not commit to a long game.

Nier came out in 2021.

Though the star of that list is 13 Sentinels.

I've been waiting for NieR: Automata to be put on PS+ for a while now.

Is there any reason to not play Replicant until I play Automata?

Automata is a sequel so if anything you'd be better off playing Replicant first anyways. Lots of references to it throughout Automata.

Oh, I see. This version of Replicant came out in 2021. I thought it was a prequel, but it was an updated version of the game that came out in 2010.

Yea they remade Replicant after Automata's success since the original release didn't have much of a budget. Most people played Automata first; they're largely standalone but I think there's stuff that probably works better/makes more sense if you've played Replicant first. Similarly, Nier is a sequel to Drakengard, but those references aren't as major (and those games are never gonna be updated anyways.)

That was a pretty mid State of Play yesterday, the only thing I saw that I'll be playing is the Resident Evil 4 DLC. Sony has had a rough year

Lies of P releasing next week. Early Access is out now and it's been getting pretty solid reviews. 81 on Metacritic currently.
I enjoyed the demo but I have plenty to play through right now, so I'll probably wait until it goes on sale to get it.

Game is unfortunately mid. Biggest flaw, enemies regenerate health. Bad mechanic that forces you to spam attacks.

Oh hey they put out the most important system update. You can turn off the activation beep now.
