Trivia : who's the biggest player to ever come out of Montpellier's academy?
He's known to everyone here.
There is a name I have in mind…this is not a current player, correct? The person I’m thinking of is now a manager

Yup.
Formed as a 10 (scored 18 goals in a season as a 21 year old and had double digit goals in every season with Montpellier where he played the whole year), then played as an 8, then 6, then CB. He then moved to Napoli and then back to France, was absolutely unreal with Auxerre (double league+cup), signed with Barca as a 30+, then OM, Inter and United.
He's still, to this day, Montpellier's all time leading scorer (84).

@Savant probably had the good answer as well.

Was a brilliant CB, one of my all time favs at thst position
Was also the main penalty taker for Montpellier

Nicolas Jackson having a crazy finish to his season with Villarreal. 8 goals and 2 assists in his last 6 matches. Curious to see if some Premiership sides come in for him this Summer.
Was signed for Bournemouth in January but failed the physical. Maybe they go back in but maybe he can do better

Didn’t know that. I’d heard good things heading into this season, but he seems to be exploding now. I would imagine he gets La LIga player of the month.

A 10y old just signed his first contract with Sao Paulo... his name? Lionel Messi whose idol actually is CR7

his mixtape shows some promise as he looks like a very skilled dribller

Didn't realize the ref was giving a red for that...was just some shirt pulling that both the attacker & Dal were engaged in...but it will be interesting to see how this team does down a man and a goal after 15min.

France beat England in the U17 euro. Clean sheet for my student.
Still not convinced by that coaching.

Will be curious who gets picked for the U21 euros given how many eligible players have already received senior team noms...Musiala, Wirtz, Havertz, Adeyemi, Moukoko, Schlotterbeck, Bella Kotchap, Thiaw.

Feel like Thiaw is likely to still get sent, less confident in ABK, Mouki, or Adeyemi. So without any call-ups other than Wanner, we'd be looking at something like:

Schade - Ngankam/Leweling
Nmecha/Wanner
Netz - Stiller* - Martel - Knauff
Dardai - Thiaw - Beyer
Atubolu

Ngankam/Leweling
Schade - Nmecha/Wanner - Knauff**
Stiller* - Martel
Netz - Dardai - Thiaw - Beyer
Atubolu

*Huseinbasic / Krauß / Breithaupt
** Weißhaupt /Thielmann / Kade

Karol Borys is a name we'll hear in the future.

This was easily our least structured match of the tourney...but the poles played some nice attacking combos while our defense struggled without Dal. Bulut has interesting tools but he clearly has a lot more experience at FB than CB and struggled to keep good spacing.

Their RB did a really good job on Brunner as well.

Third Polish goal is worth checking out:

@Evilo what do you think of Hugo Larsson?

I like what I've seen from him.
But you know I like Wijndal too.

Didn't Germany struggle against Switzerland too?

Depends on how you define struggle. We went down to 10 men really early, but despite that early red and 0-1, we controlled the match & kept the swiss from threatening a 2nd while raising the pressure until we got the equalizer.

The swiss were also a lot more structured, like the scotland match. The Poland game was way more chaotic and open, that's what I meant by "least structured"

Yeah I read they had a tough time didn't know about the red.
Anyway let's hope for a good final with the good guys winning this one unlike the previous game :D
