All the pressure is on the U.S. with them being at home and people all of a sudden declaring them the best hockey nation in the world. I think we see some Canadian international magic and take it on the road. Would be great for the morale of our country over the next couple of months.

I have a long held belief that it is very hard to beat a team twice in same tourney. So I'm taking Canada despite thinking the US have the better roster.

Reasons include Crosby and his ridiculous treak, intangibles, Makar/Mack/McD is a dominant trio and 'playoff Helle'.

I think it's a 4-3 OT game with both goalies letting in goals they want back.

Given the climate and these being the 2 pre tourney favs, this could be an all timer!

Canada doesn’t have the sack, defense or goaltending. Their only hope is for injuries and an epic collapse by USA . Mcbaby and Crosby must be thrilled to see Mcavoy out.

I am Canadian but... How can you eat that poutine stuff?

I've NEVER had it - it looks awful. Not to mention what it does to your heart.

POutine can indeed be super gross. But the good stuff is good!

You need a restaurant that makes real fries and crisps them up nice, and the gravy can't come from a can. That gives you a brief window to enjoy it while the fries are still crispy! But inevitably, halfway through the gravy soaks into the fries and it becomes a nasty sludge and I give up on it. But that first half . . . so damned good.

Does Cooper immediately yank Binner if/when he let's in one bad one?

He has a big decision to make............and it may come early.

LOL!!!!

I am too old to try it for the first time but I must be on the wrong side of history because people LOVE it. Enjoy my share. :)

Canada.

Crosby has an incredible record in best on best, and his teams always find a way to make it happen. I also think Canada has the clear 3-4 best players in this tournament:

McDavid, MacKinnon, Makar & Crosby. Maybe Crosby isn't the "best on paper" anymore at age 37 in current NHL, but going into a gold medal final game, with his performance in this tournament so far, I'd definitely list him there as top 4 for this tournament.

US's best player is....Auston Matthews, who has been mostly invisible. They have a lot of depth, and great goaltending, but I just don't think they win.

Between last years Worlds and this years 4 nations I just don't have much faith in Binner. Curious how he performs because I think the Canucks will be playing in full force and, when they do that, the D is stifling.

If the scenario develops ( and I think there is a better then 50-50 chance it does..........Cooper will have to accept reality REALLY fast.

Canada is going to be almost impossible to beat twice. Helle needs to have a career defining game and Slavin, McAvoy, Faber, Hanifin have repeat what they did Saturday. I think Canada wins this one, TBH. Really hope I’m wrong
Same here. So much talent on that team. I still consider the US the underdogs, but I feel great about the strides we've taken as a hockey nation in the past 15 years. We'll need Hellebucyk to play up to his potential as the best goaltender in the world.

Sure, but i'm telling the truth.

Cripes Binnington, get your head in the game and squeeze those pads, you could drive a mac truck through there so far.

Feels like a clear line drawn for goalies and quality here. Poor Finn's had it worse... ouch. That may have to do with the depleted D core though.

I find the poll results surprising. Elsewhere on social media, my fellow Canadians are absolutely pessimistic going into the final. Particularly about Binnington.

If Cooper has any pride, he'd start Hill. Binnington needs to have an average game for Canada to beat US, which is asking a lot of him.

Anyway, Canada getting Makar back is a bigger add than anything else.
