How would you feel about a season ending injury, including playoffs, but it leads to a Canadian victory?

I couldn't give a rat's ass about this tournament. The jets are never going to be this good again in my lifetime. If he breaks one of his beautiful long legs in this pointless game I will turn a shade of heirloom tomato.

:)

In my mind, and posters can correct me if I am wrong, if you bet Canada +1.5, you win if Canada wins or if the U.S. wins by 1.

As Homer Simpson would say...

It is indeed a spread bet. Canada are favorites by 1.5 goals (they always do half goals/points to avoid a deadlock). You can bet that the spread gets covered (Canada wins by 2 goals or more), or you can bet that it doesn't (Canada wins by 1 goal, or the USA wins at all).

I should add that the bookmakers aren't necessarily saying with their odds who they actually think will win and by how much. They're in the business of making money, so they're trying to make odds that will induce as many winning (well, winning to them, losing to the bettors) as possible.

I see this as a 4-3 type of game. Binnington will allow 2 softies, than Canada gets to work. Torch gets officially passed from Crosby to McDavid as 97 scores the winning goal assisted by Crosby.

A pre- cursor to when it actually matters. 2026 Olympic Games.

Well said.

@Mooche sent me an explanation on how it works and it made NO sense to me - it was well above my pay grade. :(

When Canada has been tied or held the lead in the third they’ve really struggled to hold it . They need to push more instead of sitting back so much. Their defense isn’t great.

Fun fact: Binnington has the 2nd best save percentage this tournament, behind only Hellebyuck. The goalie narrative for Canada is so tired. They lost one game and it was the one where they scored one goal. People also act like Hill is a far superior goalie and should have gotten a shot. Aiden Hills SV% this year is .900 behind the Golden Knights' defense. Binnington's is .897 behind the Blues' defense. You can say they should have picked Thompson, but starting Binnington out of the three goalies they did pick is a completely valid decision, and he's been the 2nd best goalie this tournament.
He’s let in 9 goals in 3 games. Thats bad.

Gonna say Canada wins and McDavid has a night.

I'm feeling a little better about our chances now, the goaltending still has me rattled though.............he's got to play better and not lose the game for us.
McEvoy is out for Thursday so...

Our chances are getting better all the time.
