I think the low pressure is going to set up at the dot by the half boards for a one timer.

Exactly. You really need that threat there to keep the region honest instead of cheating and thinking this is just another regular storm. That cold air mass, on the opposite wall, is also critical in feeding that low pressure.

People who like winter are just another species to me.

Yeah man; I always say the only four letter obscenity in the English language is snow.

It's fun when you're like eight. When you're 30 and have stuff to do spending time shoveling your car is not enjoyable.

This time of year overall is garbage. Most wonderful? More like most overrated. Days are short. It can snow at any given time. Holidays are stressful with family and long shopping lists and people coming in and out of town (this year withstanding). Too much Mariah Carey in public. Both Christmas and Hanukah are glorified Hallmark advertisements that have nothing to do with the actual events (both took place in a desert and don't involve pre-diabetes). If you're going to celebrate them, at least learn something and then give gifts.

The ugly sweater thing is not funny nor ironic anymore.

The only winter wonderland is wondering why I'm not somewhere with palm trees and 80 degrees.

You know what makes it tolerable? NHL!

The most wonderful time of the year is July 1st when you have maximum daylight and don't have to spend 20 minutes defrosting your car while wearing more layers than Garth Snow in 1997. You can still see family in fact you have more places to go like a park or pool.

Florida went from the coolest state ever when I was a kid to the circus it is now. It probably always was that way but I feel in the internet era it really has been exposed on the world wide level.

This is a very quick list but I'd say Florida, California, and New York are three states that have been really negatively impacted by the rise of the internet and "we need to be there" while Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Oregon have all gotten some love.

My goal is to still get out of the Northeast post pandemic to avoid the snow and cold weather because I'm over but a lot is dependent on the factors; will they allow to me to do the three week/one week other state-home base that some other employees are allowed, will I be in the same department/position, dating, etc.

I found a groove at my job and I want to finish the year strong for many rea$on$.

I enjoy the different seasons and what they bring.

Sure, I’ll take a clear sunny day in the 70’s over wet rainy days, but even then I find some sort of enjoyment of being in a hurricane with no power for a few days. Experiencing the intensity of Mother Nature.

I can see how the Holidays can stress people out, but you know what’s more depressing than having to deal with the stress of family and traveling? Getting older and older and losing those closest to you and wishing you had 1 more holiday with them. So cherish the time you do have with them because they won’t be around forever.

Although I despise holiday shopping, seeing the joy and excitement in my nieces eyes when she’s unwrapping gifts melts my heart and makes me remember when I was her age and I was opening up GI JOES and Voltron toys on Xmas.

Also — some people don’t like warm weather. So palm trees and 80 degree weather sounds f***ing awful to me. Especially when it’s year round.

You’re absolutely right about Mariah Carey, Xmas music, and Ugly Sweaters. No arguments from me there.

finish strong!!!! I get it

Nashville has some of the greatest nightlife you can find. Lot of NE companies moving to that State thanks to the tax structure. Travel a bit outside of Nashville and ouch, underdeveloped. Texas is a plus yet long drives between towns often. Carolina, inside or close to the triangle and might have to attend church more. Not sure what is in Oregon besides good wine and, ya know.

Love Fla yet would not want to raise kids there. Awesome for year long sports yet a lot of issues. No snow or a large Mariah trying to squeeze into a medium while she forgets her lyrics again. . . and that’s huge IMO.

Amazon makes it easy and the kids disappear to X-box until New Years

I look a dew different forecasters every snow event and they look pretty in line that this will be a major storm event, particular Northwest of the city. Some parts overnight might see snowrates of 2-3 inches per hour

It's coming. Maybe cut those totals a bit for some sleet mixing in, which only serves to 'cement' up the snowpack. It should last until Christmas

Starting to get snow down here in DC. Gonna go check up on Hank....

Storm totals never went down (if anything went up slightly).

The city should start to see the first snowflakes within the next couple hours.

Enjoy the storm boys, it's going to be a white Christmas this year!

Freezing temperatures, naked-ass trees, no sunlight, Christmas music, snow, more snow, and so on.
