Any team with Cuthbert is the best in the business.
I do like Ray and Gord though. Gord has encyclopedic knowledge of the WJC and WHC, he’s awesome calling international hockey.

On a serious note, Gord is one of my all-time favourites, if not my favourite play-by-play guy of all time. Definitely adds more excitement to any broadcast.

I have always loved Miller and Ferraro and they seemed to have been universally praised until sometime in the last year or so. It is kind of inevitable with the internet I suppose. I like a little bit of personality with my commentators. They aren't calling the game on radio I can see the ice myself. Elevate the big moments and don't be obnoxious and I am happy. They check the boxes.

I agree that Ferraro was meandering a bit too much, but you kind of have to when folks at home aren't so familiar with the players and you have a handful of games to build a narrative. When he does NHL colour his commentary is more pertinent to the on-ice play as he only has to worry about being relevant to that individual game.

The Slovaks have been strong defensively this period collapsing in their own zone and haven’t gotten into penalty trouble early.
