While I'm here...chiming in on Byfield, he played well yesterday but I think there's so much hype around him that it hurts him if he's not putting huge pts on the board. He's not high flying like Cozens, he's going to give you a more complete game and more muscle as he becomes a pro. I think what everyone wants is for him to become Cody Hodgson but look what happened to him...

Let him develop and let's celebrate his pro career.

Is Slovakia bad? Like is this another double digit goal game for Canada?

Canada is REAL good.
Slovakia are weak at this tourney (1 medal) and sent a young team so they'll be more competitive in the next 2.
Hlavaj is a very good goalie so you should keep it under 16
Double digits would not be surprising though
Slovaks have a huge game with Germany coming up.. they could get 3rd in group with a win
The next game against Switzerland is also likely a very lopsided affair
The pools are a bit lopsided this year
If Canada finishes first they'll get Czechs or Austria for another lopsided game
In summary, if you're waiting for a close Canada game - tune in on NYE and the semi finals and, most likely, finals.lol

I got major Chabot vibes from Thomas Harley in his draft season. Thought he should have been a top 10 pick. Since then though he’s been cut from the WJC team and very disappointing every time I’ve seen him. I’m sure he’ll be a fine player and all and maybe my expectations have just been too high but he’s disappointed me since draft night.

He is a Canadian and Japanese dual citizen. In a hockey sense that really isn't much of a question for an elite level junior player.

This is the best team in the business right now. Well with Cuthbert gone to Sportsnet.

We got him and Cuthbert for regional Sens games at one point for a whole season and it was glorious.

Agreed. They’ve gotten too comfortable kibitzing.

It's nice to have a goalie come in and take the job instead of just going with whatever kid Hockey Canada has been grooming for the last 4 years. Goaltending is a position where the hot hand matters a lot, establishment choices obviously have merit too but Hockey Canada is often too conservative with their decision-making.
