With a roster like this you shouldn't rigidly stick to a bottom 6-top 6 format. I think the bottom two lines have been the best two lines and should be playing more. Juggling the lines is always an option too.

Having Dach and Holloway out has thrown the forwards completely off.

A couple of these guys need to just grind for a couple of shifts.
Holloway was pretty much non-existent, I knew this would happen after the blow out. Canada always gets full of themselves when they blow an opponent out of the water

Perfetti’s pace of play is far too slow. His skating needs some work.

Slovakia with two decent scoring chances 5 on 5 to start the 2nd. Nice to see you were on point.:)

I was impressed how the Slovaks completely showed up a more energetic playing style and the actually tried and succeeded in getting a couple of attacks and not just dumping the puck. . After all, I was just observing the 1st period and based on it, it was hard for me to see coming. Great for you, if you did!

Whatever. You can at least acknowledge that the Slovaks are playing tight defense. I'm really not worried whatsoever, canada will win this game.
I just do not like the lack of spirited play. Very few hits, lack luster forecheck, not shooting!
I to remember games like this in past tournaments. It either improves and we win the gold or we don’t and they don’t medal at all.

How does Newfoundland produce so many good players? It isn't that wealthy of a province, correct me if I'm wrong, and it's literally an isolated island. You have to take a ferry in order to get there.
They don't exactly produce a lot of good players. Having two Newfies on the team is a rarity and there are only a handful in the NHL if that. Most of Newhook's development was done off the island as well.

hockey doesn't have to be expensive. But once T.O. lawyers start paying for coaches and extra tournaments, it's tough to keep up without having money, and poorer talent gets priced out of the game.

Forwards have not been great so far. I like Drysdale but I feel like he has a bit of Hanifin in him where he lacks the real high end skill set. Haven’t watched him in junior so I could be off here but he really seems like a future number 4 to me in my limited viewings. I remember him getting compared to Makar pre draft and he does not play like that at all.

And you have to score 3 goals before they let you on the ferry to get back.

Only the strong survive there.

Too much negativity, boys.

This may be for the best. As long as we win, I am happy with the challenge.

I thought this is Byfield best game but he needs to shoot.

That's not saying much. If he touched the puck twice it would be.
