Halak would be huge, capable of stealing games against better opponents.

Halak ist any more a game changing material. Even in his best years, he was shaky in national team. In junior teams (U18, U20) he was really really good, but in senior national team his performance wasnt great. And now i cant see him as a real improve element.

Btw. Its looking so, he isnt going.

Gernat is out with a torn muscle and suddenly the Slovakian roster is starting to look even more questionable, especially their D.

He was the bomb in Vancouver 2010. Prime Halak, Hossa, Demitra, Chara, Gaborik, Handzus, Visnovsky. Not to mention slightly post prime Palffy. The fact that we didn't medal then will forever be the biggest dissapointment of the national team.

For sure. We need Nemec, now more than ever. Hope New Jersey is out soon.

Let's play a prediction game: Top 3 Point Predictions for the tournament for Slovak players?
Feel free to add any reasoning also if needed.

Example:

1. Regenda 4+4 = 8 pts
2. Knazko 2+5 = 7 pts
3. Chromiak 4+2 = 6 pts

Has Slovak powerplay ever been good at any level recently? Only time I think was Hlinka with Nemec-Slaf-Mesar-Repcik-Dvorsky on one unit. But NT powerplay always seems bad.
We scored 9 power play goals at our last U18 WC which is definitely "good" number.

2-3 vs that experienced Czech roster is not bad. I feared a defensive breakdown, but they did alright, and also got lucky with a couple posts. I liked Koch a lot, expected a bit more from Regenda, I hope he gets it going. Agree with Sukel. Hopefully with Nemec's arrival, this team will grow.

I hope so too since on average, Hlavaj is a far worse goalie. I really don't why some of you guys like him so much.
