I am terribly annoyed, just with Toronto, I have the feeling we should have won.

Both teams capitalized on pretty much every good scoring chance and the Kings seem to prefer possession over effectiveness. Not because he scored twice but Toffoli is the only player who isnt afraid to skate east-west. All the others all go blindly north-south.

Also sick to see Quick constantly getting beat with shots from the blueline. I know these are difficult for a goalie. I've said this before, I always have the feeling this is definitely his weakest spot. 3 times this game.

Clifford is missed in the bottom 6 more then people realize. His physical play wearing down opposing players isn't happening leaving them fresher for the 3rd then they should be. Say what you want about the lack of scoring in bottom 6 but without the physical play we will lose more

could say the same for King. He may not fight but he plays physical, and I think is the better player

teams know to the best way to beat quick is via redirects. Those usually start at the point

By the way, the Kings gave up 5 again. It must be line combos. I'm sure the right forward line combos will fix the problem.

its definitely weird. even more weird considering the Kings are usually lights out once they get a 2 goal lead. kinda concerning that we lost to Toronto and the Sharks....hopefully its just a little slip up and not an indication of bigger issues

The last two games hurt. Not always bad to be humbled.

Lucic is very much a complimentary player. Maybe nitpicking but he reminds me of Brown at times with his hockey sense. Not worth more than 4-5 million imho.

That line should be put to bed forever. I'd like to see King up with Kopi and Gabby but what do you do with Pearson?

Kings need a playmaking 3rd line center and another dman.

Pearson definitely goes back on the top line when King eventually doesn't work out there. Agree about the 3C, but no teams are going to deal any decent centers because they're in such high demand. The only way is if we overpay for one.

Bozak?

Well you could but i think that would be wrong. Before Clifford got hurt we were having the best season ever which also happens with King gone. So now with Clifford gone we are losing Say what you want but Clifford more value to me then King. King is not physical at all. Only time he gets hits that i see is people running into him.

Definitely a bummer game! The Lucic penalty was a good call in my opinion but I think they should've got Burns for the dive/embellishment. I don't doubt the slash hurt but to jump to your knees a few seconds later is pretty ridiculous. But the team shouldn't have been in that position anyway. They were outplaying the Sharks and they took their foot off the gas.

This was the most frustrating loss of the season. It was only further maddening watching all the losers on their team celebrate like they won the Cup at the end of the game. Just when I think I feel bad for the Sharks lack of success, they go and redeem themselves with that ****. What a bunch of ****ing losers!

Yeah, that's one thing I noticed about the Sharks - they really "over-celebrate" when they beat us on our home ice. I guess it's more sad than annoying.

I think most of us that post here would, however, I don't think DL has enough ammo to pull the trigger twice and he's still gunning for a top 4 D.
But without upgrading the bottom 6 with that C, they're an early exit if they make the playoffs. Right now if you look at the teams stats, the Kings are top heavy. All the production and defenes/prevent is coming from the top 2 lines, the bottom 6 has little production and a lot of goals the other way.
And this is pretty much the same team as last year, in that they rely on Quick for the W's too much of the time, with DD and the Carter line. Same as last year. That won't cut it. If Carter, TT or DD go down for any length of time, they'd be in bad shape.

ANd going on the road for 4 games in 6 nights after the xmas break is rough too.

Pretty much this. Still incensed at the Burns dive and have pretty much lost any respect for him but we deserved to lose that game anyway after that **** effort in the last 40 minutes of the game and in particular the third.

This is what happens when your a one line team.

I call BS.

I agree with Nick and Daryl on the post game show that all the lines were cooking in the 1sr period (in particular the 2nd and 3rd lines) and that all collectively took their foot off the gas after that.

Prior to this, you had respect for him?

I gave Burns half my sandwich when I found him sleeping under the overpass this morning.

I say leave the top 4 D alone, its fine the way it is. The only glaring weakness is McNabb, who hasn't been anything special. A strong 1-2-3 center punch is more important. DL is running out of assets to trade though.

None of those were on Quick. Its actually a perfect storm, the kings don't really block shots much, Burns fires perfect hard low shots, guys like Thornton and Pavelski aren't getting cleared out of the way (Amart etc) and the sharks are great at deflections. Sutter had no answer.

I also saw Burns collecting plastic water bottles during the second intermission.
