King is projected back after the holiday break. Skating full practice, he may need a contact game down in the AHL.

Not including empty net goals, they've given up at least 3 goals in 5 of the 7 games(6 of 7 if you include the empty net goals). In one of the other 2, they got shut out by Vancouver. In the other 10 home games for the Kings, they're 9-1. Giving up less than 3 goals in 7 of the 10 games. Outscoring teams 29-16, or 2.9 to 1.6.

And that right there is what's going to make going down the stretch really interesting.... It's funny laughing at the rest of the Pacific for being complete garbage, but the Kings could easily fall back into that group.

Shore did a great job on that PK looking at the guy scoring the goal instead of getting on him.

Lets face it... got Jonner'd tonight.

it's fine because it's a long road trip

there's no point in tampering with the lines with all things considering

just because they haven't been as productive for some 8-10games splitting them up won't solve this issue

especially if the answer is Lucic & Kopitar

basically just as much as we don't have the luxury to made a trade, or the luxury of having a deep prospect pool, we also don't have the luxury to juggle our lines

we have a clear cut top 6, and a clear cut bottom 6

the bottom doesn't belong in the top and vice versa

so how many line combinations can you really come up with?

none

therefore; you keep Lucic - Carter - Toffoli together

Even if it keeps Toffoli in a 2 goal for 20+ game slump ? Carter is also nursing an injury, Sutter already explained the lineup change.

That is why you are not an NHL coach.

thanks guy, that's some good news to look forward to, i feel like adding King will bring some kind of energy to our lines

clearly the Andreoff, Shore, Mersch, Weal experiment isn't working

any idea when Clifford is coming back??
 
I am sorry, but Kopitar/Gabo are being payed 13+ MILLION Dollars to figure it out

Get off your high horse even nhl coaches make mistakes. Putting Lucic on the first line was fine for a game, but it's pretty ****ing obvious it isn't working.

Well now that Toffoli has gotten off the slump cart, maybe Sutter will think of changing back. Also maybe Carter will be ok after the break.

But something had to happen, you can't have Toffoli not scoring, when Gabo/Kopitar/Carter are not producing.

How hard is that to understand ? do you understand that ?
 
Pearson, Carter, Toff is better then Lucic, Carter, Toff.

HOWEVER, more then that... Pearson Kopi Gabby is better then Lucic Kopi Gabby.
Looch just doesn't work up there, Pearson does.
I get the point, especially if Carter is hurting, of getting Pearson back with Toff to help him out... But the overall effect of putting Lucic up on the first is definitely worse.
Was good to see Pearson and Toff get 2 tonight though.
 
Also if Sutter simply left the lines alone, and Toffoli stayed in a slump, the Kings lost the same amount games(probably due to not scoring enough), you very same folks would be moaning about what ?

The Lines need a shake up, yup, you know you would.
 
I really hope someone asks Sutter why he didn't pull Quick at the 2:20 mark when we had control.? We had the puck in the zone until 1:40 with two chances on net. We didnt get Quick out of the net until Jones covered the puck at 1:04.

Then Doughty goes and passes the puck right to Chewbacca...

Well if Doughty is going to make a bad pass, what difference does it make ? The game wasn't won or lost in the last 3:00 minutes.

Not a good last 4 games, that's for sure. 5 goals scored against them 3 times, and had 45 shots against in the other game. Then the Buffalo game, they didn't play all that great. The definition of a slump.

Chicken or egg situation. Do the Kings suck on the road against Atlantic teams, and at home against Pacific teams, or would they be in a slump regardless of who they played?

A combined 4-8-2 against the Pacific at home and Atlantic on the road. 16-3 against anyone else, anywhere else.
