How did I insinuate that Lombardi has resources for Weber and Suter? Quit being an asshat. I do believe Lombardi could've done a better job replacing those guys instead of Schenn and Scuds. How is that not reasonable?

Ok, I'll stop being an "asshat" if you take a break from NHL '16, take a look at the defenseman that were actually ****ing traded this year and come back with what Lombardi should have done to improve the team. Don't worry, I'll wait.

I totally agree, I think Scuds we'll be ready as well. I guess the biggest question marks is McNabb and Schenn, neither one are proven playoff performers, hell they can't cut it in the regular season.

Luke Schenn has always played on bad teams, and he performed poorly on those teams, and we are seeing exactly why Toronto and Philly wanted to dump him. He simply is not a good defenseman and he would be the last person I would trust as the last man back.

McNabb looked very promising last season but this season he's been a mess. I still hope that he can pull it together and play with more confidence, but right now his impaired skating is just resulting in him committing numerous minor penalties because he can't keep up against moving targets.

Like you said with Scuderi, he is what he is. I'm not so much worried about him but how often he is used and who he is paired with.

The forwards have also looked pretty bad defensively. The Carter line was a hot mess and not a single player has apparently learned how to cover the points. I don't feel like this team is playing as well as they're capable of, but then again I have memories of 2014-15 instilled in the back of my mind and doubt starts to creep in.

Of course we'd all rather have 2012 Mitchell and Voynov, but there was nothing out there. Looks what the Stars paid for Kris ****ing Russel. You want THAT assclown manning our blueline in the playoffs at ANY price? I take my chances with McNurb.

I disagreed with the Lucic trade, I would've much rather had a defenseman over Looch, even though I love Loooocch. I just think that Lombardi should've spent the resources finding a suitable replacement for the D as opposed to getting another forward. Btw, I think you're absolutely right with the trade deadline, I mean look what happened to the Sekera deal.

OK, Pretend he never traded for Lucic, who is the defense man he gets instead? Seriously, WHO. It's great to talk in vague bull****tery, but the actuality is that no one was available. Seth Jones? Say good bye to Tyler Toffoli. So I ask again, who was Lombardi supposed to get on defense for a backup goalie with 30 games career experience, a prospect and a pick?

Keep in mind, we had Martin Jones, a first round pick, and other prospects we could've thrown in for a deal. I'm sure we could've gotten a decent return. In terms of available players for trade, I honestly don't know who is or was available at the time.

Like I said totally understand what your saying I'm just looking at what we currently have. And the bottom three is no bueno. Whether Dean can or cannot make any trades has nothing to do with how bad the bottom three Dmen are. But like others have said if they can come through great! If not well there ya go. In dean we trust.

We keep getting punked out by these clowns. No way we win the cup this year.

Honestly, I've sort of reached this conclusion, too. I've been watching a lot of old clips from the 2014 team, and there was just another feel back then. This 2016 team can be good, is VERY good when they want to be, but the magic just isn't there.

Unless the proverbial switch is flipped come first round, I really don't see this team doing much. They're a total enigma at this point. How in the hell is this team first in GAA?

They kind of blew their load last season with that Sekera trade. That deal wasted away assets for a guy who barely played for the Kings.

But looking at the list of names moved this season, the only notable dmen dealt were Dion Phaneuf and Roman Polak. I don't think Kris Russell wouldn't done much to help, but Dan Hamhuis would've been nice. No clue what the hell the Canucks would've been asking for though.

So we obliterated some great teams on the way to clinching, and have played half-assed since, and people are worried.

Maybe I should take a break until the playoffs.

Except you're comparing a decent game for McNabb and Muzzin's worst of the season. 75 other games, Muzzin is by far the better player.

Muzzin was pretty brutal against the Oilers too. Hard to say this was his worst game. He looks a little bit off the last few.

You guys are panicking too much. Kings just have to buy time for Gaborik/Versteeg to get back....

Lucic/Kopitar/Versteeg
Pearson/Carter/Toffoli
King/VL/Gaborik
Clifford/Dowd/Lewis

That's a nasty lineup... The D is just going to have to do their best to kill time. If/When things get tight shorten it up.

Phaneuf and Polak, perennial chokers, and Dan"DGAF I'm going back to Van City" Hamhius... Like I said, I'll take my chances with Guys that actually give a ****. Agree with you re: the Sekera trade. That was a desperation deal and it blew up in our faces. The deals that were made this year were made with the idea that they made the most sense given what was available. Would it have been nice to acquire a legit #2 D? Absolutely, but it wasn't there, and no reason tyo try and put lipstick on a pig.

We needed old man Lecavalier to drink from the fountain of youth to salvage our top six this year. No ****ing way we average more than a goal a game without the Lucic trade. You HAVE to make that trade with Williams walking. The offense has all but dried up without a mediocre Gaborik rounding out a wing. Imagine what our offensive statistics would look like with Pearson and ****ing Brown permanently plastered on the top two LWs.

I'm thinking that too. If I "Queen of Negativity" have to tell others to chill then things are serious here.

Either way, like I said, Muzzin is the Kings 2nd best defenseman for a majority of the season and better than McNabb 95% of the season. He had a terrible game tonight and against Edmonton. Doesn't diminish his otherwise great season.

And what happened to Brown in the your lineup........?

Same thing that happens when he's in the actual lineup: Nothing.

"What happened to Brown?", is a good question.

I'm more concerned about the 2nd best D playing like garbage then guys that only have to play 10-12 mins a night in a pinch.

I figure the Sekera trade backfiring is a big reason why they looked at the bargain bin in bringing in more experienced dmen like Scuderi and Schenn, but sadly it's looking like they're a couple of guys who have to be monitored closely and need to have a babysitter assigned to them in addition to McNabb.

Keeping the Muzzin-Martinez pairing intact has been a double edged sword because of how imbalanced the bottom pairing is by having two sloths on the ice together.

Given how the rest of the games remaining on the schedule are pretty much meaningless to this team, they might as well start mixing up the D-pairings and see what may stick. Hell, reintroduce McBain into the lineup.
