I would include Brown, but I honestly don't see who is going to take him, no matter what the Kings send with him.

Martin F-ing Jones has beaten the Kings in his first two playoff games. Lombardi still must be fuming at Boston for trading him there.
 
Kopitar and Doughty are disappointing the **** out of me. Your best players HAVE to be your best players, and it looks like they don't have it in them right now.
 
Is it just me or did Lucic hurt the team more than help tonight? The awful penalty, missing several good chances, and that nonsense at the end.

The blueline needs to be retooled, they have issues at center and on the wings, just too many holes that need to be addressed either internally or externally.

A retooling won't hurt either because this current group has grown stale and it shows on the ice.

Its called Gravel and Forbort getting a real chance to settle in. Not some thing where they have to play on pins and needles and then make one mistake, get yanked out of the lineup, and have DS call them just college boys that have a lot to learn, but.......
 
My beer league goalie could probably beat the kings right now... since every shot is high, wide (ahem, doughty), from the blue line or blocked.

There is no way they can be worse than Schenn and McBain were tonight, probably Scuds too.

Kopitar did a better job on draws OVERALL... i think... but he did not win a single INITIAL draw on any of the PP's. Which set our PP's at 90 seconds instead of the full 2 minutes. lots to be discouraged...

THe fact that McNabb is given MORE responsibility playing offensive minutes scares me. Amart out really hurts because it's giving this "best player not playing in the NHL" waste-of-space more ice time.

The truth is McNabb is actually very good on the PP, but not when you get pulled out of the closet for this role.
 
McNabb is a #6 playing on the top pair
Schenn isn't an NHL player
McBain isn't an NHL player
Scuderi isn't an NHL player anymore
 
Is it me but does Quick give up way too many rebounds. Like, every shot! Can't remember was he always like that and just that our defense was great in clearing the puck.

Sutter nailed it. There were many good looks and shots where Jones didn't see or know about it but never had to make a save. He didn't have to make a save.
 
Worst playoff game ever. Regular season intensity: preseason reffing.

That's a 7th seed blue line right now.

Gaborik looked good.

I noticed that the only time the Kings effectively ground it out in the corner of the offensive zone was when they were on the PP. :handclap:


Don't worry, they'll start playing better or we only have to suffer through a couple more games.
 
Sutter calling out the guys who had grade A scoring chances and missed the net [ cough cough Doughty] "I could think of 4 or 5 ..."
 
The top guys not showing up is a big reason why this team is in a 2-0 hole. They dug themselves in it, let's see if they can dig themselves out of it in San Jose.
 
Maybe they did peak too early as a team back in December.

For people saying they expected this, good on you. I'm not so much surprised by the result, as I am the famous process to the result. They're not just insufficient on defense, but nobody anywhere is really doing much of anything, considering how much they said they were embarrassed missing the playoffs last year, and blah, blah, blah.

But no one is an NHL player then, even the boys that haven't been given a real honest to goodness chance!!!
