It hit -10 at Logan this morning, the coldest recorded in the city in SIXTY-SIX years.
😨

The last time Bostonians awoke to a morning as cold as February 4th, the year was 1957 and weather satellites didn’t even exist yet. For that matter, Sputnik, the world’s first artificial satellite, wouldn’t go into space until the fall of that year.
Alot of Mass population have root from here.... -10 is not that bad!!! After a hard and fun winter, starting spring by a trip in Boston with flowering trees and a Bruins game is just fantastic.

It's -1F, the windchill takes it below -20F, and my elderly dog decided now was a good time to have to take a slow, gingerly dump.

THANKS DOG
I can relate! Not that it's that cold here, but still pretty chilly, and Her Royal Highness Daisy, who will be 16 in a few weeks, likes to wake me up at 2 am to go sniff blades of grass outside.

Swell....I have (in the past) had a problem with the pipes under the kitchen sink so I left the cabinets open and have a small heater on under there.

This morning ...no water...pipes frozen. I called the plumber.

It’s -4 here. Going out to start the truck but not going anywhere today. Will walk down the hill to the office for a few hours but will be sure to bundle up good before I do

I didn't know Bill Cosby was a Bruins fan
My Dad used to say that before Cosby was even born

All that is good but leaving the water drizzling very slowly will usually keep them from freezing

I hate dementia with EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING.

And some fibers I don't have.

First you lose them mentally, and then you have all the physical issues. It's like dying twice. And not a thing you can do about it.
I have been where you are, and it is terrible. With my Dad (Alsheimer's) we finally had to put him in a nursing home which specialized in dementia..

Sending a hug

Plumber is booked through next Wed.

Hopefully the pipes don't burst.

Have our annual Galentines/Favorite Things gift exchange brunch this morning with my college girlfriends. There are few people that could get my ass out of the house in this weather but those 8 girls can.

Started the car this morning to be safe.

that’s terrible.

Best I can suggest is try a hair blower dryer on the exposed pipes. Just keep moving it back and forth. Many years ago I lucked out with that.
Good luck!

Not sure where they are but pretty sure they go through my garage (behind a wall). I put an electric heater in my very cold garage....we will see.

Left our faucets dripping last night, so far no issues.
I should have but having the heater on always has worked in the past
