They're actually closer than you think. What we need currently is some offense.Team can't win regular season games without Ullmark, so even if they made the playoffs they would likely get swept and it would probably be ugly to watch. We're still very far from competing
Well he’s in a slump, we’ll see where he finishes.Stutzle is leading the Sens with 41 points in 40 games. That puts him at 31st in league scoring. He has only scored 12 goals. (25 expected goals on the year)
I don't know how we expect to win as a team when our best player is so far behind the rest of the league in scoring.
This is not the old NHL where a point per game puts you in the top 5 in scoring. The Sens lack an enormous amount when it comes to talent at the forward position.
I know Stutzle can dive with the best of them, but this isn't the summer Olympics.
Such a sad realization that we do not have a top line yet.Well he’s in a slump, we’ll see where he finishes.
Also part of what helps players get in the top of league scoring besides just being McDavid or someone ridiculously talented is chemistry with linemates. We don’t really have a top line, gotta try and find a finisher with speed to play with Brady and Timmy next year.
I think they are farther than you think. They're actually closer than you think. What we need currently is some offense.
No true at all. They are still learning new coaching systems. They are still thinking a little bit. Once they stop thinking the offense will come.I think they are farther than you think.
To say that currently all we need is offense and that puts us "closer than you think" is a bit silly.
Last time I checked offense is pretty important in winning. Halfway through the season it is highly likely that what the offense has shown already is the best predictor of what they will show the second half of the year.
The offense is bad and most likely will be bad.
Ok. Now try not being facetious. Your shtick is getting old
Rangers will move ahead of ottawa tonight
Ottawa is done like dinner they will lose to pittsburg and Dallas there year is done the loss to buffalo sealed there fate they will never recover ullmark is not returning anytime soon time to gut this team and start over again
Are you going to be able to sleep tonight?I bet all my funny money ottawa will lose this is kinda fun
They do really stink up the place I'm not in denial anymore lol
Seriously. It's mid january and the sens are tied for the last wild card spot (pts %).Are you going to be able to sleep tonight?

That pick we have to give away might end up being a better player than anyone on this current roster.
Their losing streak coinciding with their starting goalie going down is mostly what killed the fan confidence. Hard to blame anyone when you see the Forsberg games (both him and the team). Maybe Leevi can save the season. What team are you watching? They are in most games, and it’s not like the teams above them are completely unbeatable. Ottawa could beat any team in the NHL in a 7 game series.
Have some faith, these guys have been playing well all season. Lots of
Playoff tesms have holes and big holes in them, ottawa isn’t perfect but they are a playoff team and a dangerous one
Sens fans need to man up. To
Many weak kneeded fans who freak out. The team has the system and the depth to
Make the playoffs - they make it into the top 8 and be ready for whoever they play don’t worry

Lol, he didn't save anything. Forsberg has been ass other than like 4 or 5 quality starts this year. Putrid in the others, bad goals galore, and the team plays like they know it when he's in. They lost .032 on their save % the moment Ullmark went down. Hard to overcome that. Only hope is Leevi.Forsberg already save the season when Ullmark was injured in October. They scored 1 goal in that game, Forsbwrg looked good and everyone is freaking out and crying as if we bombed the season.
Sens nation is a weak nation. So many online guys who claim to love the team just absolutely feckless day to day.
Sens fans need to man up. Way too many bandwagon jumpers defining the team is done for the season when their points percentage has them in a playoff spot. It’s pathetic TBH z to see

Fans are just being realistic of their chances with Forsberg as their starter and the much lower odds of stringing the required wins together. You don't win enough games on average with a goalie putting up .883 save % on the year, you need better.
Snivelling too much like some probably are, but there's nothing wrong with being realistic about their chances. There's no denying their odds dropped significantly when Ullmark went down. That points percentage you reference was when they had him, and until last night had lost almost every game since he went down, only dropping that number since. His fill in has looked like a disaster this year, contrasted to one of the league's best. Nothing about backbone, it's just reality. The team has to not just get back to playing like they were, they have to play even better, and overcome his loss and more goals against. That's steep. How many more expected goals against with a .032 drop in your save %?Realistic or just suckers? They are all online playing victim of another Sens lost season when we are making the playoffs and knocking some teams around.
It’s not realistic to say a team with the points percentage above the other teams around them isn’t a playoff team, these fans are just being pathetic, no backbone and no reality, just disaster all around them.
I agree that Leevi gives the team a better chance at gaining the W (until Ullmark is healthy). But Leevi will let in a softie at some point and I’m hoping the team doesn’t deflate. Good teams provide goal support even after the goalie lets in a bad goal. The players/skaters need that winning mental attitude, mindset and determination to have the kind of success we are hoping for.Their losing streak coinciding with their starting goalie going down is mostly what killed the fan confidence. He will, and they need to overcome that, but I do think it's different than a guy that's given them little to hinge their faith on 2 years running. I really think Forsberg has lost the team and they play different with him in there. Either way, nobody is going to give them what Ullmark does, but Forsberg's .883 save % is indisputably not good enough to win consistently with.I agree that Leevi gives the team a better chance at gaining the W (until Ullmark is healthy). Because the Senators lose games against teams they should be easily beating such as Detroit, Buffalo and Montreal. This teams lacks consistency. That is caused partially by injuries and partially by the players on the roster. We have needs that must be filled before the team can become a consistent playoff team and true contender:Seriously. It's mid january and the sens are tied for the last wild card spot (pts %).
Why are some people complaining so much?
Yes, I much prefer Leevi over Forsberg. But, this team is so inconsistent. Maybe there’s a need for a more determined and resilient mental attitude. They are going to need to overcome adversity along the way.He will, and they need to overcome that, but I do think it's different than a guy that's given them little to hinge their faith on 2 years running. I don't disagree with that to an extent, but I still think Forsberg's performance overall has been poor enough that it's reasonable to accept that it is a significant circumstance that leaves the team handicapped. Not many teams in the league are going to win consistently with their goaltender giving them an .883 save % and some of the early bad goals he gives up. It's team killing territory and I think they also play like it when he's in there. I think there's an avenue to overcome and succeed despite bad goaltending, but the numbers are bad enough to question if that's actually a reasonable expectation. Imo, if the team is going to string wins together, it also has to include Forsberg putting up better numbers, and personally, I have no faith at all that's going to happen. Korpisalo this year would be an upgrade, which is insane to ponder given he hasn't been particularly good with soft deployment this year.Yes, I much prefer Leevi over Forsberg. But, this team is so inconsistent. Maybe there’s a need for a more determined and resilient mental attitude. They are going to need to overcome adversity along the way.
Those two recent losses against division rivals can’t happen. They weren’t scoring much over a 7-game stretch either. There’s 18 skaters that need to do their jobs and be productive in addition to the goalie. If we are talking about being realistic and doing what is necessary to have success, we are going to need more from all 19 players.
That makes the probability of the Senators making the playoffs lower. If we had beaten Detroit, Buffalo and Montreal, I would have greater confidence in the team but this losses have significantly affected my view of the team.I don’t know if they will make it in or not. But, the recent losing streak and losses against division rivals sure made the job much tougher. Its all knotted up now and too many teams are in the mix now.
