Yes, just ignore his accomplishments.

I can nitpick numerous screw-up by Marner and Matthews especially in OT in game six and all the times they were on the ice for goals against, usually winning goals.

How about Reilly and his lame defense against Paul in game seven or Numbnuts on the game winner.

Tunnel vision for the haters but go fill your boots because he will still be here next year.

I think a lot of it is only watching Leafs' games.

If you watch other games you see players make strategic decisions all the time.

Naivete is bliss.

No I’m talking about his complete lack of sacrifice, not a miscue here or there. Quit trying to justify his behaviour by pointing out another’s behaviour. This thread is about Nylander.

I don’t just refer to all the obvious chicken plays where he was called out on NBC and CBC in past playoffs, or even this year when TNT said it was unacceptable of a NHLer in a playoff game. No, I’m talking all the fly-bys, the pull ups,the failure to even attempt to block a shot.

All his skill is wasted if he doesn’t want to play in the playoffs. If they’re going to keep him, they better find a few guys that will pull his weight for him.

I watch hockey every night there’s a game on. The Leafs have moved down to my number four most watched team.

Tell us why Nylander does a fly by when he has D man lined up for a blind side hit early in a playoff series? Justify that.

Excuse me you are suggesting a blind side hit, which is an infraction in today's NHL?

they didn't get out of round 1. again.

so PLEASE tell us why they would roll on next year with the same roster that can't get out of the first round?

Would consider moving Marner or JT than Nylander in that order. We all saw the playoffs the captain didn't show up till game what 4-5. Slow pace game playing in front of a net struggling to fly back to his zone. We saw Marner play great, game 1 that is. Than what happened to him same thing every year, no physicality letting everyone pass him in the offensive zone. But is playing great penalty kill and had some great passes- 11 million of a penalty killer great. Than we have Nylander, sort of quite, played actually pretty physicals down the stretch, invisible most of the time. But when he was on fire he was on fire, entering, protecting the puck. But just like Marner they have 1 or 2 good games than they sort of vanish to thin air. Pretty much like Matthews but your not trading a 60 goal scorer, you need some substance in your team eventually even if his a 1 goal andy in the playoffs.

They shouldn't put the same roster out there and they won't.

But I think they need tweaks, and a leader.
Marleau, Thornton, Tavares and Spezza were supposed to be leaders yet none of them could make a difference. I doubt no matter who they get as a “leader” will make much of a difference
Maybe this group isn’t able or willing to be led.
Until they get out from under the Tavares 11 million no amount of changing the role player will make much of a difference. I can see it being 7 years wasted

so you're telling me an 80 point top line forward for a middling top 9 forward who is 2 1/2 years older is a good trade then

okay buddy
Did you not read the post. I was referring to bringing Kadri back with the Nylander money that goes out. And yes I would trade a heartless slug for a heart and soul guy in a heartbeat. Not denying Nylander is a Top 6 winger and you could and most likely will get more for him. After that stunt against Tampa, that was the last of it. The tangibles that Brown offers offset the high end skill of little Willie

what tangibles are those?

no doubt the fanbase is angry and frustrated but doing dumb things won't help.

fortunately Nylander is worth a good deal more in the real world.

Just a stylistic point here, the game that Willy let up on the forecheck, the game basically over, I just knew those two absolutely useless goals he’s subsequently scored, when it didn’t matter, would be used to pump up his production after the fact. Anyways….

Mitch was their best forward in the series. Reilly was overall awesome, when you play that much there are always “examples”. Marner had ONE giveaway in a seven game series and he had the puck all the time and played a TON, not to “nitpick” though. Amazing stat.

If they are wanting to trade Nylander this is certainly the right off season to do it as his value is sky high right now. That said if they are going to move him, the return had better be worth it.

How many points does he have in the playoffs? The series against Mzontreal he was arguably our best forward. Anyway you can trade him a million times but he ain't going anywhere.

Why can’t he play a complete game? The points are excellent and no one is complaining about that. But he lacks a critical skill that you people ignore, and his lack of compete contributes to annual first round exits.

The question remains, why? Do you think he’s scared or just doesn’t care?

We need the Kawahi Leonard trade. Nylander + for 1 year of P.Kane.

We aren't going to be able to resign Nylander in 2 years anyway. Now is the time

Every year "you people" carry on banging the same drum, over and over.

Next year he will have 90 to a hundred pts if he gets utilized the right way.

If you look it up you will find out that last year he led the team in high/danger scoring chances.

Anyway, I'm done.

Have a good weekend.

Before you head to the beach for the long weekend how about answering the question.

Why can’t he sacrifice like every other nhler that wants to win?

McDavid did and probably will, Kuch does, Point is a damned freak. Matthews lead his team in hits, Stammer has bruises all over his body, Marchand and the GOAT Berg have.

Why not be complete?
