Should the NHL consider taking a ring off the Cup and adding a ring with all HHOFers

No. But if they did swap a ring out, the only acceptable thing to be on that ring imo is a list of the past winning teams that have dropped off. Just year and team name. Nothing else. Though I'm perfectly content with how things are currently.

They should have HHOF belts, similar to what wrestlers win.

If elected to the HHOF, members should be required to make monthly public appearances wearing their belts.

And you can win or lose them in a fight but only on skates on ice.
Yes.

Picture this...two ultra-rich dudes donate sizable cash to the NHL and get themselves HHOF inductions as builders. They then face off, center ice...for the BELT of belts.

Come on Musk and Zuckerberg...make it happen!

They can build a stadium in Arizona to hold the event...Muskerberg Arena.

It’s why we have the hall of fame. To recognize individual greatness. It’s a beautiful separate honor.

And that’s why we have the Stanley Cup, to celebrate team greatness. The cup memorializes hundreds of men who were individually not great, but contributed to collective greatness. It’s a beautiful separate honor.

Just like every cup winner shouldn’t be in the hall of fame, every Hall of fame shouldn’t be on the cup. It’s the best trophy in sports because of the way it celebrates teams.

So, please no.

Neither the Hall of Fame nor the Stanley Cup are managed by the NHL anyway.

What they should do is hang every Hall of Famer's name and number in the rafters at Scotiabank Arena.

Many of these players are from Toronto, and the ones who are not from Toronto have visited Toronto in the past.

This just makes sense. It may even encourage more players to try and make the Hall of Fame.

I’d rather see runner ups than this idea, but hey, for an off-season thread, not the worst idea I’ve heard.

They need to stop removing names from the Cup...Put the Cup in the HHOF and have a new one built.
