Please don't let him be the guy playing hurt, please please please pls pls...

You know that's what's gonna happen. We're gonna blow the Kings out tonight, and he's gonna get high-sticked during the center ice salute and get a concussion or something ridiculous.

I completely refuse to turn into the game until 8:20. I'm not getting suckered into 20 minutes worth of commercials again.

This,lol

well you might understand that it was afterall first game in the SCF for the Rangers in 20years, bit normal the game would be postponed for some kind of intro ;o

You can see the same thing happening to Richards again that happened to him last season. He ran out of gas, playing poorly bumped to the 4th line, removed from the point of the PP, and might be scratched.

It stinks that he has nothing left, broke up the 4th line, and put Dom Moore in too big of a spot. Pierre and Eddy O were practically begging AV to get him off the point tonight. I didn't think he deserved to get scratched, but think I wouldn't even mind it at this point.

That's the only way we can win tho... Richards can't play on a line with MSL and hagelin he's bringing me down... If I was coach I'd just scratch Richards and put Carcillo in... Have MSL play the point on the power play and put Nash in his spot

Would a beat reporter ask Vigneault point-blank why Richards is on the Power Play? Surely, AV should be asked by those who watch the games.

Oh I agree, the situation stinks right now.

No doubt put Carcillo back in on the fourth line and at least some forechecking would be happening. That fourth line was able to get into the kings zone games 1 and 2 (and a little in game 3).The fourth line has no chance with only boyle and dorsett capable of taking body. Unfortunately, it won't happen. AV won't scratch Richards.

See I think that some of that its just crock. He isn't out of gas, he just isn't skating hard at all. He does this, he goes through bouts of something in between the ears where for a stretch of games he just doesn't skate.

He's done it his entire time hear. When he's feeling like it, he'll play hard, but the two games in LA... I mean its the freaking Stanley Cup finals Brad, can you not be an emo for two weeks?

Just throwing this out there. The NBC crew tonight was talking about how AV did a masterful job hiding the changes in the lines. I have to wonder if the line changes have more to do with an injury to Richards.

Then he wouldn't be a healthy scratch, now would he?

All this crap about him not playing hard, by the way, is just that: crap.

In Game 3, he looked like a speedster out of the gate. I could hardly believe it was Brad Richards who went from checking a King on one side in the Kings zone to the other corner in a flash. It was super.

That level of energy and play dropped off appreciably soon afterward. If he can manage his lack of stamina, he can still play. The roster is not going to change appreciably now, that is a fact.
He just does not have the stamina. I think that should be evident to all. He was wheezing in a CBC interview a few games ago just prior to the start of the next period.

Why do people ignore clear evidenc?

Yeah, this really needs to change for Game 5. Stralman absolutely has to be on the point here and Nash needs to continue to be on the power play.

We really dont have anyone better than Richards to fill in. However he needs to be taken off the point on PP

Personally, I think Miller is a better option for that 4th line.

They had so many plays where they tried to cycle and play strong Richards couldn't do it. He doesn't play a grinding game and he's not talented enough to be a finesse player.

I agree. The 4th line had been extremely effective until last night.
Yesterday I thought Richards needed to stay in the lineup. After watching last night, I have changed my mind. I think you need Carcillo in there.
I know Richards is a leader and all, but there are alot of leaders in that room. They see what is going on. They want to win. Put your best team out there.

The fact that there is a 99% chance he is being bought out anyway makes it a far easier decision in my mind.

Not sure why being bought out would make it easier to sit a guy. You said it about - put your best team out there. If AV feels that the best team is with Richards in it, then that's his best team. If he feels his play is detrimental to his team and him not playing would be beneficial, then he sits him, regardless of contract status. You're trying to win a Stanley Cup. You're not trying to appease egos. If AV is thinking contract status, then his decisions are detrimental to the team. Perhaps he believes that his presence gives the team a better chance at winning than his absence. Perhaps it has something to do with line juggling and maneuvering. In fact, I'm sure there's a reason, and maybe he's right. Maybe he's wrong, but hopefully he's basing his decisions on what he believes gives his team its best shot at winning the Stanley Cup.

Have to disagree there, he isn't good for just one shift a game, he's gotten favorable zone starts, doesn't PK, doesn't draw defensive assignments (ie Hard minutes), and he's turned the puck over every time he's felt pressure.

A lot of guys are tired at this time of year, a lot of guys are banged up, but this is what players play for and that team over in LA has guys that push one another forward, and not make excuses and say hey its okay we'll get 'em next time.

I like Brad, and wanted him back this year, and what's clearly evident to everyone, is that the legs aren't there anymore, and haven't been for months now. But atleast he could step up and try. That line with him MSL, and Hags was effective in the MTL series, was effective in the Pits series, but as soon as they have to play a bigger team and exert themselves more physically, two guys show up and one doesn't and that's why he finds himself on the 4th line.

I was for taking Richards off the power play, but continuing to give him a regular shift. At this point, however, with the team exhausted, I think we can use some fresh legs, and Carcillo is there for us. Use him.

I'm all for loyalty, but this is the biggest game in 20 years, and AV has to do what's best for the team. Richards was clearly struggling to keep up last night, noticeably gliding behind the play. It was the worst game of the series (the playoffs?) for our fourth line, and we need that back.

Put Carcillo back on that fourth line with Boyle and Dorsett, but make him understand he's not there to draw penalties and definitely not to commit them, he's there to provide a spark.

It's not a coincidence Carcillo has found himself on two cup winners, and it's amazing how often he finds himself in the right place at the right time, and the puck just finds him. (Rick Nash, are you listening?)

Do what's right, AV.

Anyone think Miller and/or Carcillo need to be in the lineup for fresh legs??

At the expense of who, though. Carcillo for Dorsett, but Miller for???

Miller for Dorsett???

makes sense.
