Signing(s): Shohei Ohtani signs with the Dodgers (10 years, $700 million)

This guy has all of Japan behind him so the revenue from signing him helps offset a bunch of this contract. However at his age and his history of tommy johns you never know how this plays out.

MLB has a huge imbalance though and it's getting even worse with how a few teams can just buy everything. Hopefully the Dodgers don't win with him.

So, Bellinger to the Jays then?

In terms of fit, he's exactly what Toronto needs, and you know they'll be desperate to save face after missing out on both Ohtani and Soto after it was reported they were the "favorites" to land them
When was it ever reported they were the favorites for Soto?

And there is no reason for it. All the owners are rich. They are just 2 faking cheap to spend any of it.

Blame 90% of the owners in this sport, they're only in it for a profit.

I believe that was more that if Ohtani signed with the Jays Soto might be interested.
Nah, there was speculation the Jays were the favorites for Soto, with Manoah or Tiedemann as the centerpiece going the other way

I'm guessing the Jays weren't interested in moving Tiedemann for just 1 year of Soto though

No other player will come close to this deal. Ohtani will be pitching/hitting from 2025 onward. That's the reason he got this mega deal.

I don't like their starting pitching that much. If they don't win a legit WS soon, heads will roll.
