Finally benches Marner to send a message, the kid sulks and leaves the bench. Should have sat him the rest of the game. Instead the baby misses a shift?? Keefe needs to go.
If he left the bench and missed a shift it’s more likely an equipment issue than a benching

Nah, it was not an equipment issue. He probably did not want to be seen crying on the bench. If he had balls he would have sat there and accepted it like a real man would do.

I’ll have to watch it for myself.

He's coaching the Flyers, under contract.

The Leafs could have had him and a handful of other coaches this off-season but unfortunately Kyle Dubas and his delusions of grandeur believes the current coach is going to be a Hall of Famer...
I didn’t realize he is with the Flyers. I guess we will see him soon.

If Keefe gets canned his replacement on a temporary (?) basis will be Manny Malhotra. This will be a decision from well above Dubas. Careful what you wish for!

1 regulation win in your last 7 games

1 regulation win
1 overtime win
5 losses (Arizona, Vegas, San Jose, Los Angeles, Anaheim)

6 points = last 7 games; 0.85 team points per game
= 72 games left = 0.85 x 72 = 61 points
= 61+10 = 71 = 71 points

I think you should change your entire coaching staff
- then if the game does not improve, trade few players

I'd like to expand on this a bit.

We're hearing Barry Trotz' name thrown out a lot, and a lot of mentions of bringing in an established coach. But, if Kyle Dubas is also on the hot seat, is upper management going to greenlight bringing on a big name coach (presumably with a contract to match) if the GM may not last much longer? Conversely, would someone like Trotz take the job if there is perceived uncertainty in the front office?

The more I think about it, the more having an interim coach for the remainder of the season makes sense if Keefe is let go. To hire a coach for the long term I think you either are committing to Dubas or removing him and letting the new GM make the hire.

That timeout was telling. First, the team body language as we he speaking, basically ignoring him, Matthews I noticed in particular. Second, they didn’t respond at all after the timeout, they stunk.

They’ve tuned him out, he’s been yelling at the since day freaking two of training camp. I don’t think they dislike him, but he has no gravitas and he’s basically just a line coach at this point, he’s motivating no one.

Keefe is a bad coach AND his team is a bunch of quitters. It's a wonderful combo.

I don’t feel bad for Keefe. Keefe and the organization babied Marner. He can’t be surprised now that Marner doesn’t respect him.

The only player I feel bad for is Nylander. The organization has not treated him the same way they treat Matthews and Marner.

How he's not gone (the minimum move) at 1 pm after that disaster. Shows how incompetent we truly are

We went all out with pre game mind tricks to beat the ducks and still took the f***ing L. He's also obviously run by his players
