I'm not saying It's not fair, It is 1000% I'm saying I think Kane is a depressed asset, I don't think he can get a 1st not just from Toronto but anybody

The 1st is for taking Ritchie and Mrazek, and giving us Reimer...

They're gifting us Kane for nothing

I think SJ is taking back salary regradless of where he goes when I think of teams that could be interested I have a few.

Calgary purely talent reasons

Carolina character doesn't matter to them they signed Tony Deangelo.

Edmonton just for pure talent reasons Kane and Mcdavid together.

Toronto let me make it clear I don't want him here and it would require double retention but the fact remains they do need a LW to play with Matthews and Marner Nick Ritchie has not fi there.

TB because TB is always loading up.

Is he vaccinated. He isn’t playing Canada until he is and this idiot faked a vaccine card, so I give him no benefit of the doubt, only scum do that.

If San Jose is motivated to dump Kane there will be some team willing to take him at 50% retention for future considerations or some small plus.

Even if Kane flops with that new team and they choose to buy him out in 2022 or 2023 that’s still better off for SJ dealing with 50% of a buyout or 50% retention. As opposed to SJ buying out Kane themselves.

Are the 20% of society that believe that the government insert chips into our bodies and use COVID as an excuse to track people scums or are the simply unenlightened. I personally know one person who “ had COVID” and they didn’t have a symptom. Calling him a scum for not taking apart of the most exaggerated thing in history shouldn’t classify him as scum. FYI I am vaccinated but I see the good in everyone.

He called him scum for faking a vaccine card. Not for choosing not to get the vaccines. And, yeah, that is a very selfish and scummy thing to do in a work environment that demands constant close contact.

Exaggerated? How many have to die for you to take it seriously?

I wish this guy wasn't such an idiot. On the ice he'd be the perfect addition for Calgary.

I'm very much in the pro second chances camp, but I don't think this is a guy who learns from his mistakes. I'll be surprised if he turns it around.

At this point this isn’t a second chance this is third or forth. Like they say a cheetah can’t change his spots. He is what he is and I think only a team with really strong leadership and winning will be able to keep this guys ego in check. The fact that his contract is only 3.5 years remaining will also help. It’s seems he has about a 2-3 year shelf life.

It’s scum a person who lies about about being vaccinated by buying/creating a fake vaccine card. There’s no other way to describe that. Also those people who believe in the chips... are just stupid.

It’s easy to say they are stupid but belief can be pushed upon people just like religion. Neither has proof of existence but yet millions still believe it.

I think Kane would really help Edmonton with more depth scoring by pushing other players down the line up . Also would be able to have RNH move back to C

Kane McDavid Kassian
Hyman Draisaitl Puljujarvi
Foegele RNH Yamamoto .
McLeod Ryan Archibald/Sceviour
Benson

With Holloway and Bourgault coming

Swap around the RWers as needed .

Forward group would look good but at what cost ? We need a D that is solid defensively and a goalie . With that in mind count the Oilers out.The Oilers should use the asset on a goalie and or D first .

I think keeping wages is a necessary factor.
How much payroll withholding makes sense?
From (@$2.5M ret) to (@$3.0M ret). Check out the hockey player's contract buyout page.

Evander Kane Contract Buyout Details - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

Notice the CAP HIT column.
2022-23 - $3,66M, 2023-24 - $2,66M, 2024-25 - $4,66M.
The number of sixes scares me a little.

Accordingly, it makes sense:
Evander Kane AAV $4,0M (@$3.0M ret), UFA 2025
A third team can be involved in the exchange (@$2.0M ret) (AAV $2,0M).
Who will pay the third team? Probably the player's new team. It is not expensive.

How much is the Evander Kane AAV $ 4.0M?
I do not know. Perhaps someone else might guess.

At 4.0 M I would offer a few lessor cap dumps and a first + Prospect . We can counter Flames Tkachuk with Kane
Cap dumps would be Turris type to add up to 4 million for this season only

I'd love it if Edmonton did something like this. They actually have a good team now. One or two solid adds and they could make noise.

They need to do something to screw it up.
Well to be honest I posted this before last night game and Kassian getting Three points with Mcdrai.

Would trade him at 50% retained for a 7th, or less and we give up something.
Since the first three years of cap penalty are similar in the case of a buyout and full retention, the Sharks are essentially paying to be relieved of the final three years at $1.667M each, when the team hopefully stands a better chance of being competitive and needing the cap space. How much do you think that's worth? I'd say a couple of 3rds might be reasonable.

If Kane's fellow teammates are vaccinated, well then they would have nothing to worry about... right? :sarcasm:

Don't his own team mates not want him there?

Also Brown was signed for a minimum deal as did TDA (basically). Kane has a really bad rep around the league and while I have 0 doubt he would get signed if he was a free agent, not sure anyone wants him at a high salary.
