The seat next to me was empty so I ended up taking it home. Woot!!

Great game..was nervous as hell during OT. Glad it went the Sharks way. I had to ask a Pens fan to lean back in his seat. I asked nicely but he seemed perturbed and promptly sent out a text about me..lol.

bawwww i want to buy it from you, this shirt needs to be on sale :(

Tierney has looked really good. I always see him get criticized for his lack of possession but he makes a lot of smart plays and is very good at making nifty passes to the points or other teammates. Would love to see what he does with other skilled linemates. I think he has more upside than we give him credit for given the fact that he went a point per game in 29 AHL games last year on a team where people weren't even very close to that pace.

I think he has the upside to be a decent 2C once he strengthens up and gets a little faster since he's already so smart. It's too bad he's stuck behind Thornton, Couture, and Hertl as future centers to actually give him a good opportunity to prove himself.

he does seem to do better with better linemates.

For game 5 in Pitt I think they need to split up the Dillon/Polak pairing because they will constantly be out against the Crosby line. Put one of them with Vlasic and the other with Braun. Our two best defensive dmen will be able to hide their weaknesses abit.

they don't need to split them up, just stop playing them as much as they are. up until about 10 minutes left in the 3rd period. dillon and polak had the exact same amount of shifts as burns/martin/braun/vlasic. that is just wrong on all levels.

the only reason the other 4 played more up to that point was because polak/dillon's shift average was 37 seconds compared to 55 seconds for the top 4.

He was playing 2C last night in the Stanley Cup Final. I think his upside might be 2C also!

I ****ing told you guys!!!! Dooglas I bet you don't regret dropping that cash now man!

What a game. I feel like we've found our game and we did it without Hertl.

I was beyond pissed at how they were playing. But then it was the best night ever lol. Yes I'm fickle but that was a lot of money

All the pens fans complaining about how bad the ice was. Honestly from the TV it didn't seem much worse than the 2 games in Pittsburgh. The only difference was all the bouncing pucks last night didn't go in the pens favor like they did in 1 and 2.

No worries I wasn't calling you out or anything. Just happy for you, LZ and everyone else that went last night.

It's easy to be positive no matter what when you didn't pay any money. I can empathize with your sentiment at that point in the game because it looked bleak. As someone who's paid for Leafs tickets before I know the feeling.

Do you think it was worth it for what you paid?

Not questioning your decision, just genuinely curious here. I went back and forth on spending $600+ for a ticket and ultimately decided to just put on a jersey and watch the game at the Brit. I had a ton of fun because there had to be at least 200 people in there. So I left feeling like it was a good decision to save my money for a potential game 6. But I could imagine given how that game ended, it may have been worth it even if $600+ was borderline sell your kidney type money for a lot of folks

Yea it was a yolo moment for me. I don't know how often I'll be at the tank in the future or if we ever make the finals again.

If we would've lost it would've been hard to justify but it wasn't so woot!

So I'm beating a dead horse here, but I still cant believe how brutal the linesmen were to us last night. I'm not usually a ref basher, and I personally think the reffing from the actual referees has been fair this series, but it seemed that last night every single tie went to the Penguins on icing calls, regardless if they were attacking or defending.

That said, I suppose Sharks fans have finally learned what icing is after years of those awful "what is icing" commercials, cause they were really letting the linesmen have it

Nah tbh they've got a maximum of 2 possible games left in Pittsburgh. In those games Vlasic-Braun should just play 30 minutes each.

One thing about the Dillon-Polak pairing is they have shut down Malkin most of the time and Polak seems to be frustrating him. So if you just hard match those guys to Malkin's line and give them some shifts against the 4th line I think they'll be fine. Just make sure they're never out against Crosby but Vlasic-Braun always are. Vlasic-Braun were amazing out there last night.

You know it's bad when Keith Jones says that the linesmen missed 2 icing calls in a row in the 3rd period.

Maw- I'm giving it to my best friends son who is autistic. He is a huge Sharks/hockey fan and he will literally treasure the shirt. I can't wait to see his face when I give it to him. :yo:

I too was at the game, and the experience was incredible. Probably not as incredible as actually clinching the Western Conference Final because there was a trophy involved, but I agree it was a once and a lifetime thing. I still can't believe the stat that Sharks finals tickets are 300 more dollars in the upper section than Warriors tickets. That's crazy to me.

Was at the game so haven't read this thread nor the actual GDT.

Did the crowd sound loud on TV? I imagine it must have.
When Donskoi scored that was by far the loudest I've ever heard and it lasted well over a few months (past the 3 stars of the game).

Pens fan coming in peace. Killer win last night. Series has been great so far.

Quick question, I want to go to the game in San Jose. Is 208 a good section to watch as a Pens fan? I know the Sharks shoot twice on the end, but will I be able to see the rink pretty well?

That's the section I was in. Saw everything

SAP is fairly small so even the upper level seats are pretty good, and there is a really large % of people who live here who aren't from here so the crowd is usually pretty decent to other team's fams.

I was surprised at the number of pens fans in my section last night (228). A good time was had by all though. The only time I really saw a fight break out was in the first round against the Kings, but I think that was the nature of the rivalry. Still a stupid thing though to fight with opposing teams fans. Will never understand it, honestly. Maybe it's because I see things I respect in all teams and fans are fans.

Thoughts after the game:

- The Sharks are getting better each game, hopefully this means they are starting to figure out how to effectively counter the Pens
- The compete level was the highest we have seen from the Sharks this series, they never quit and were tenacious
- The Pens still dominated major portions of the game, but the Sharks defense and goaltending kept them from scoring
- Hopefully the Sharks gain confidence from the victory and the Pens start questioning themselves or making adjustments
- Pavs is definitely injured. Why is he playing?
- Burns needs to crack the formula of getting shots through to the net
- We need to shelter the D pairing of Polak/Dillon and reduce their ice time
- Jones has been amazing
- Hopefully Hertl returns next game
- Thank you Donskoi!

If we tie up the series, I will leave my India trip early and come back to see game six at home!! :)

Penguins get bounces: "Hard work"

Sharks get bounces: "Have someone from the league fly in to San Jose and help them fix their garbage ice because no other team besides Pittsburgh is allowed to have a puck bounce in their favor"

Maybe one of the most ridiculous main board conversations I've ever seen, and that's saying something.

Regardless, love the way this team is getting better and better each game. It was a terrible start, and I really do credit the Pens for coming out of the gate with such authority, but the Sharks are pushing back in a big way. Whatever happens, I'm proud of their response.

Yep. Dumbest I've seen yet.

Gotta get game 4!

The pro pens narrative in virtually all non SJ media is disgusting thus far. Refuse to give credit at all.

Sharks cash in one a few of those many posts and it's a 3-0 series in SJ's favor. Hopefully all this bs gives them some more locker room board material.
