Claire Hanna speculating that this is a shoulder injury during the intermission. She did “correct” herself afterwards saying she had no confirmation on the issue but I find it hard to believe she would specifically mention that if she didn’t hear something.

Hoping it’s not a shoulder that’s for sure…

They showed a clip of him grabbing at his leg/knee, I was weirdly relieved. Of course, that might not have been the injury.

I found that segment very frustrating, either they know, or they don't. Why are they talking like it's his shoulder when there is literally nothing public to suggest thats the issue? if they know on background, they really just screwed up the relationship with that source the way they stumbled through "speculation" on it. If they don't have any inside info, they are just drumming up panic for absolutely no reason.

G.T.A.
When Pinto makes his return, would it make sense to play him at right wing with Brady and Stutzle? I'm just thinking the top line needs someone. Grieg is ok but not as dynamic as I'd like.

When everyone is healthy and returned:

Tkachuk Stutzle Pinto
Batherson Norris Giroux
Perron Grieg Amadio
Cousins Gregor MacEwan

Sanderson Zub
Chabot Jensen
Kleven JBD

Ullmark
Forsberg

Ostapchuk looked good last night against the Blues. He's very close to being a full time NHL player.

What was the stat they showed last night? The top 3 Cs on Ottawa bave played together 40 games out of 222 or something like that?

As johnson was saying last night, I'm sure we all hope they can be healthy for 50 games this year so we can actually see what we've got.

3 points. Wtf!
I think we need to mix up his linemates, I don't like him with Perron and Amadio,

I'd try something like this, maybe swap Amadio and Perron

Perron-Norris-Batherson
Tkachuk-Stutzle-Amadio
Greig-Pinto-Giroux
Gregor/Cousins-Gaudette-MacEwen

I'd be more drastic and move one of Norris/Pinto to the wing. You could go:

Norris - Stützle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Pinto - Giroux
Amadio - Greig - Perron
Gregor - Gaudette - Cousins

Or

Giroux - Stützle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Norris - Pinto
Amadio - Greig - Perron
Gregor - Gaudette - Cousins

If we want to have success, we need to get more offense out of Greig and Pinto. Greig is a shell of himself at wing, especially his off wing, and Pinto is really struggling (can't win a faceoff either). He's played RW at international tournaments and looked good doing it.

And I like Amadio, but he's a bottom 6 player. He lobotomizes offense if he's on a line that we want to score.

Those are both alright options (moving them to the wiing that is), I think Norris has been alright, so I'd probably try Pinto on the wing first, he's the one that's struggling imo, but I'm not sure a move to the wing with Tkachuk and Norris is the best setup, no real playmaker on that line, three shooters.

Swap Pinto and Batherson, that balances skillsets out more.

Giroux - Stützle - Pinto
Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson

I thought he was a bit better last night but tough season so far.

Last season he also had better opportunities since Norris was out. He was often on the first PP unit and playing first line with Tkachuk and Batherson.

He’s not even on the 2nd PP unit but I get why. Not sure who you take off out of Greig, Giroux, Gaudette and Perron. Greig has been pretty good and produced there, same with Gaudette, and the other two have the track record.

Anyway he needs to get going 5 on 5. I’d like to see Perron in the top 6 and Greig/Pinto together on the 3rd line, they had good chemistry last year.

Ya I think we see Perron in top 6 soon, possibly easing him in for a few games to get his legs under him.

Our top 9 combos aren’t the best but I think I’d go with

Tkachuk - Stützle - Giroux
Perron - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Amadio

It’s probably as balanced as we can hope for.

Keep Bath with Stu. He seems to keep his intensity up. Now do the lines again with that. Lol.

Guys are griping their sticks a bit tight, we need to get Pinto going, and I think Greig needs to be on the third line. Maybe try something like this:

Tkachuk-Stu-Batherson
Pinto-Norris-Giroux (either Pinto or Norris at center)
Amadio-Greig-Perron
Gregor*-Gaudette-MacEwen

I'd prefer to have both Norris and Pinto playing center but until Pinto finds his game, we need to try something else

I was advocating for this a few games ago. I think they should do almost exactly this.

Throw Gregor with Stu and Bath for a couple games. See what happens. Put G with Pinto to help the kid.
I think they should pull Pinto off center and put Grieg there to try to get it going. I'm also not sure Giroux is helping anyone atm. And Gregor is miscast with Stu and Bath, but I'd be up for an Ostapchuk call up and a gaudette tryout.

Top 9, now that Perron has a couple of games under his belt

Tkachuk-Stu-Batherson
Giroux-Norris-Perron
Greig-Pinto-Amadio
