Coach says Pinto is "week to week" so this has to be a relatively serious injury. Might not see him until the Rangers game on Friday, if we're lucky.

"Week to week" is coachspeak for, "four to six weeks". I wish this wasn't the case, but it is...
Without any indication as to why he's out, it's really hard to tell.

Greig was initially deemed week to week, he was back in a week and a half.

He went from "maintenance days" at practice on Thursday, to game time decision on Friday, to out week-to-week on Sunday.
That kinda sounds like a hairline fracture like someone mentioned

Your foot is swollen but you're toughing it out. I just need a day kinda thing. And then the day later it's going nowhere and you think maybe we should get this x ray'd. Boom. Week to week.

Sometimes the hairline fractures don't easily show up on xrays until they start healing which could explain why it started day to day then became week to week.

The only issue with it being a hairline fracture or something is it is the absolute easiest thing to announce...so I am guessing it is something else

I think they avoid announcing things when it isn't obvious what wrong if there's a chance they can play through it when they are close to 100%

A concussion, like Zub, tends to get announced because you likely can trace it back to when it happened, and they can't return early. A Broken foot, well if they know your left foot is bad they might try to beat them wide on the right knowing they'll have trouble turning that way.

I think they have announced that in the past? Broken finger, foot, etc...because bones usually heal back stronger
