Why? He’s just another good player in a long list of good players. You can't trade Matthews and get better it's impossible

Optics don't scream that, overly emotional fans who don't have a grasp of NHL player market values scream that.True that, but the optics scream otherwise.
I don't know how anyone can say thatYou can't trade Matthews and get better it's impossible
No way this is related to Matthews.True that, but the optics scream otherwise. Liked him as a player, but I don’t know what he brings to the front office, hope he’s not a gofer like Spezza was……….
Best thing that could ever happen to the Leafs franchise is another team in the Gloden Horseshoe. Competition breeds success………
Here’s hoping want and get are two very different things……..
He’s a top 10 player but he’s certainly not irreplaceable. Give me a Patrice Bergeron every single day over a Matthews. No he's not "just another good player." he's an MVP caliber player he's a different level.
You just compared him to PLD and Kevin Hayes.
My Boston homies said the same about SeguinI don't know how anyone can say that
You replace Matthews with other team needs and create a more balanced team. And if he's stuck on being the highest paid player in the league, perhaps that helps with the entitlement factor with others
And Kessel, and Thornton.I can taste the heart and grit in this coffee. Mmmmm.

He should be the highest player in the league until Mcdavid is up again.
People like you don't realize what we have in Matthews
As of today I do.
We have a large body C the does not fully apply himself when it comes playoff time. A man that has wrist issues and recently had production declines. He likely has the ability to be a top 3 player but is playing way below that and appears to be very focused on money and less so on winning.
You just proved me right.
