Well I think the word on street somewhere is that Trotz mother died recently. His dad is living in Winnipeg, so he wants to be closer to home. That's is only reason I can think of why they "got rid of him". Though Detroit was after their new head coach, which might be other explanation. Like we kept Dubas over Lamoriello. Or it's something combined.Dubasites are well known to have great imaginations.
Still can't understand the dinosaur dumping the only thing he did right on the Island. God help the Isles now.
I heard it was issues with Barzal. Can't coexistWell I think the word on street somewhere is that Trotz mother died recently. His dad is living in Winnipeg, so he wants to be closer to home. Kicking Trotz in that situation where he could be or would sign closer to home is something that I think Lou could do. His tought but has heart.
Also possible. I think we'll see during the summer which is more probable. Doesn't sound like Lou that inmates run the asylum. Though it might be also Trotz being too old school even for Lou and if that's so, could he survive here? Interesting tidbit.I heard it was issues with Barzal. Can't coexist
I'm not a fan really, but yeah Lou runs things, takes no shit. No problem moving on from anyoneAlso possible. I think we'll see during the summer which is more probable. So you don't want to answer the question, OK then. They used to be positioned that clock is ticking. All I know is which team fails every year
For the next 2 years that may be true. Once the big 4 contracts come up that will change. The top 4 guys are great but you need more then that to win. They also don't have a lot of cap space to fix the goaltending and bottom 6.Would you rather be NYI with a couple of good runs to remember and a dismal future ahead, of the Leafs who have yet to win a round but are very well positioned for the future?
Almost beat TB who is clearly the gold standard as it is so no reason we can't win a cup in the next 2 years. For the next 2 years that may be true. Once the big 4 contracts come up that will change. That's a bit melodramatic. Teams change ever year.unless MLSE puts the leafs on sale, this team will never change forever.
People tend to be very binary when it comes to Keefe. He is either an amazing coach or garbage to some...no in between with him. They can't fathom that he is good in some areas but really sucks in others. That's why many want a hard look at Trotz...he isn't perfect either but maybe his mix would be better. The Metro is a hard ass division, so is the central but none of those teams complain about it being hard to win. This team needs an upgrade in goal and a better bottom 6 or it's going to be a repeat next season. With the bottom teams in the Atlantic getting better, it's not going to be easy to get to 115 points again.
Keefe may be a good coach but he is awful with adjustments. Just look at the PP. For most of the season it was really good but towards the end of the season and the playoffs it was terrible. All I saw was they kept sending the same setup out there. No changes to see if they could get it going.
2 more rounds than any of Dubas' Leafs teams have won.Yes some teams were able to win 2 playoffs rounds in a 6 team league.

Just look at the facts.
Almost 20 years, no playoff wins, sellout crowds.
55 years, no cup, sellout crowds.
This is a profitable formula for them.
When it comes to the Leafs there's more money in losing than winning.
Why mess with it??
what change ?Almost beat TB who is clearly the gold standard as it is so no reason we can't win a cup in the next 2 years.
I'm not worried about the bottom 6, goaltending though is for sure the big problem we need to solve.
As far as the big contracts coming up, it's big 3 not 4 right? M&M will probably just resign here so not worried about that either but Nylander, that's another story. And that's why what I'd like to see if a bit of a shakeup that involves Nylander being moved out and a quality #1 goalie moved in.

Prices pretty much double every round. If the Leafs had gone to the final it would have cost more than the season ticket and of course they aren’t paying the players. Anyone thinking they don’t want to go on a long run every year is very naive.I thought I saw somewhere that the average playoff home game draws MLSE $7 million in the first round. So a championship run with a minimum 6 additional home games and a maximum of 12 home games would generate an additional $42-84 million if they didn’t increase prices per round. So yeah I think they’re motivated to have more success.
How is there ‘more in losing than winning’?Just look at the facts.

And Boudreau and McPhee.Washington light is my best analogy and my big question is whether we're ready to turnover our Semin and Green
Except we haven't taken even close to the same path in those 6 years. Our team has changed drastically over that time, and we've lost for very different reasons. If you took the same path everyday and hit your head six days in a row would you continue to take the same path?
While maybe true, diminishing current Leafs teams is also a really bad look.Diminishing historical Leafs (championship) teams is a really bad look.

Just because we are one of 31 teams to not win the cup, that doesn't mean we need to diminish our successes, accomplishments, records, team quality, etc. It's a bad look. They diminish themselves by constantly losing in the playoffs. You can run out all the lame excuses you want, but they’ve lost to lower ranked teams repeatedly.

They’ve been on the same path of filling holes due to self-inflicted wounds.Except we haven't taken even close to the same path in those 6 years. Our team has changed drastically over that time, and we've lost for very different reasons.
