Would be great with a rematch between the two best teams of the tournament, USA and Sweden.

Hopefully this time without all the penalty calls.

Finland hasn't played one single good game so far in the tournament as a team. The goalies have sucked, the defence hasn't been there. It's been the youngsters line all the way dragging the sled. My guess is that the goalie, whoever is in the net, will finally show up and Finland will take a comfortable win tomorrow. Sweden will focuse too much on the Aho-line and Rantanen will prove why he is the captain of the team and his line will make the difference this time.

Finland has lost this game. Too bad. But in 2018WJC the Puljujarvi-Laine duo will be unstoppable, and Juolevi will captain the team. At that point I pretty much expect a Finnish gold.

What? This is most likely their last WJC, they will be in NHL from the next season. Though it's still possible for 2017 WJC in Canada.

There are many draft+2 players let to play every year in the tournament. Ristolainen by the Sabres in 2014 as the latest Team Finland example.

As impressed as I have been with the 2 Finnish players, I'm not quite sold on them being impact players in the NHL as early as next season and therefore unavailable for the 2017 tournament. My bet is that they'll both be on Team Finland next year. The year after that? I would say no.

Russia-usa will be interesting. Both teams seem to have the ability to score at will.

Finland Sweden will be blowout win for Finns. Sweden cant handle the superior skill of Finland. Finland played theyre worst games already and Niku/Keskitalo/Saarijärvi/(Vehviläinen) wont make those mistakes again. Mikko Rantanen and Kasperi Kapanen will finally explode and this will be known as Hell on Helsinki for Sweden. 9-2 win for Finland

Russia vs Finland would be a fun rematch

At some point, I really think a documentary should be made about the WJC

10-0 ? :sarcasm:

The key for Finland is to cut down on the mistakes in own zone. Kähkönen should be better than Vehviläinen but the edge in goaltending is still on Sweden.

We don't have the material to shut down Sweden but if we can keep them in 3 or 4 goals we should have a chance. Finland hopes for a wild goal scoring competition and Sweden wants a slower paced low-scoring game.

Our D was extremely nervous yearsteday but tomorrow the situation is different. QF game was the difference between success and disappointment in this tournament. So mentally the next game should be a lot easier.

I don't think you can pencil anyone in yet.

Finland - Sweden will be close. But from what I've seen, they both have amazing powerplays. The more disciplined team might end up winning.

USA - Russia will be a fun game to watch as well. USA with Matthews look pretty good, but they haven't had much goal scoring away from their top two lines. Russia clearly demolished my expectations for them this tourney.

Sure as hell watching both games.

Sweden definitely has the upper hand. Finnish defense needs to be considerably better in order for them to win.

Kinda mixed feelings on w.nylander situation. Would have loved to see him live but I`ll take every help finland can get to win sweden.:D

Do you really believe that Russia will score just one goal??? )) Looks funny )

With how Nedeljkovic has been playing it's going to be a low scoring game. If Russia's defense and goaltending can shut down the US then they have a good shot since recent history will start to get in the US's heads. If not then it's going to get ugly. I'm thinking 4-2 US.

Sweden - Finland is the hard one for me to call. If Sweden were healthy they'd be solid favorites for me but they're not so that's a moot point. Whoever stays out of the box has the better shot. Sweden has an advantage on D and in net but the kid line for Finland is just unreal.

I think we get a Sandstrom vs Nedeljkovic rematch in the final, and I don't think either posts a shutout this time. 2-1 US.

Funny how finnish posters here think they can jinx us. Especially considering how good the finnish offense is. Sweden will have to fight hard as hell for a win against players that will basically die happy if they only once in their lives get to beat a swedish team and on top of that we will have an arena on finnish soil filled with screaming drunks throwing finlandia on the ref if he raises his arm.

I see Sweden as a better team overall. One never knows but you have the best D and goalie in the tournament and as a Finn those are the things that matter.
Finland has gotten its D and goaltending better believe it or not but still its no match. of course if the kids line fire it up it could end to Finlands victory.
