It's "Puljujärvi" and it's not hard to pronounce or spell at all. Pulju. Järvi. Don't make a fool out of yourself.
Finland feels like that kind of team that always seems to do better when they face Sweden, which scares me a bit. I sure hope we'll stay away from dumb penalties. If we beat the US by playing one man less which felt like the entire game we can sure beat Finland as well, but unfortunately I think Finland will beat us this time.
your point is interesting, this will be a factor, both sides step up. I think in this tournament all sides have stepped up vs Finland, atmosphere helps you turn on. Then in quiet stadia, you go cold (Czech Republic), just like USA in the last basketball world championships, the Finnish fans turned the US team on with the atmosphere and we got pummeled.
In adults, Finland has never beaten Sweden at Hartwall Arena, closest is World Cup 4-4.
The game that never happened, 5-6, if it happened at all - which is debatable, no such records exist in Finland of this game ever taking place, would have happened at Hartwall.
Will be game of the tournament, here's hoping we live up to the billing. Sweden to get emotional, messy game, 5-6 or 4-5 or similar to one or the other.
I dunno what you guys are talking about. I'm enjoying this Sweden/Finland trash talk.![]()
Sweden's defense, discplicine and organized game might be really poisonous for Finland. Disjointed and open doors kind of game with lots of goals like Canada game might suit Finland better because clearly there is no problem with scoring lots of goals. I wonder how the Canada game might have played out in the end if Vehvilainen had not sucked and the game had stayed 0-0 for much longer.
Can someone summarize the injury situation with Sweden (besides Nylander)?
Sebastian Aho & Ollas Mattsson is out.
Haha i remeber that game! and i also remeber a neighbour throwing out his TV from 4th floor
and myself was just a little kid at that time but i was furious.
I have not watched Finland do I really do not know about this matchup, but Sweden got no apparent problems with any the parts of the team while Finland apparently have some.
If Finland's first line makes up for deficiencies on the team, then they might win. But it does not really sound as the best of scenario for Finland.

USA and Sweden with the wins, no homer, it's simply based on that USA and Sweden have been more impressive so far.
Russia has no chance against US, while Finland will give Sweden a fight (as always), but the Swedish team is better overall and much deeper (as always). Nice feather in the hat for Finland beating Canada, but that was the weakest Canadian team I've seen for a long time.
USA - RUS: 4-1
SWE - FIN: 3-2
One of the round robin groups were simply much stronger than the other one. Sweden slaughtered Slovakia, USA slaughtered Czech Republic, Russia barely beat Denmark and Finland barely beat Canada.
Looking at it objectively you would have to say Sweden should win the game. They have better goal tending and markedly better defense and overall team structure.
I haven't really seen any flaws in their game since the messy pre-tournament game vs. Canada.
That being said you'd think Sweden and Söderström would have one bad game at some point, perhaps it is tomorrow.
The Finns are coming off a wild, intense and emotional game and should be riding the momentum.
Meanwhile Sweden played a clinical ho-hum cakewalk type of quarterfinal where they could have been sipping red-wine and playing ping-pong without really being challenged in any capacity.
If team Finland were to lose I hope they at least go down blazing and not without a fight.
