Lots of debate about what team's defense is better when, in reality, there is no correct answer. It depends on what your cup of tea is.

If you like strong defensive play, the nod goes to the Rangers.

If you like offense from the blueline, its Montreal.

Actually, people should remember more about the context of the Montreal people booing the US Anthem...

It was right during the Invasion of Iraq, in 2003. There had been a massive 700,000 people protest against this war a few weeks ago (at -20 degree Celcius, that's -4 Fahrenheit for you guys).

So... It was less about booing the US anthem, and more about booing the US's warmongering, if that's any better.

Meh who cares, boo away, Canada is just America's hat anyhow. lol

Awesome, awesome analysis. Another thing to keep in mind on the back-to-back game sevens, is that the Rangers only went into OT once, and that OT lasted a total of (I think?) 5 minutes. It would be interesting to see how many overtime games previous back-to-backers went through, as logic would dictate that in most scenarios, evenly matched teams would go to OT more often.

Can we win game 1 of this series first

I'm afraid not.

I have decided that in the interest of time that we should skip to Game 1 of the finals.

Unfortunately, I am not open to negotiation in this matter.

Thank you.

Yeah, this bandwagon loyalty thing is both cool and bizarre. You guys get the recently-wounded Bruins fans and Leafs fans. Montreal gets the frustrated Penguins fans, as well as the Devils and Islanders fans who haven't already switched to baseball or street mugging.

It's like two unholy Game Of Thrones alliances (which would make Leafs fans the 'Unsullied').

You're always cool in my book for this post.:handclap:

I don't know, I just feel like AV is going to know what to do. How to make P.K. Subban ineffective.

Yeah one off games in the middle of the season are way different than playoff series. They've been poring over tape for days and will be much better prepared for what's coming.

I appreciate anything that humanizes you. This must've been before you were a walking statistic.

That was... eeeeexcellent ;)

And for you BRB, I was always throwing the ball against the wall in my room and making saves with my baseball glove and mylec 'friday the 13th' goalie mask I painted red white and blue yelling 'save Vanbies' !

I think this series is decided in game 1 as crazy as that sounds. Rangers need to show Montreal that these aren't the same old blue shirts they've been beating for years.

Beezer was the first poster hanging on my wall, back in my deck hockey days.

Habs just ended a very emotional match-up againt a hatred rival. I think the most difficult part for the team will be to find a similar motivation to beat the Rangers.

Same for me as a fan. I used to dislike the Rangers for their tendancy to rely only on big name UFAs in an attempt to buy championship, but the current Rangers team is another story. It's a team full of good young players, built on the same model as the Habs : speed and talent first. Martin St. Louis is one of my favorite player in the NHL. I also have a great admiration for former Habs Dominic Moore and for what he's been through. Lundqvist, Richards, McDonagh, Brassard and Diaz are also players I like, as well as your coach Vigneault.

Also, your fanbase looks pretty classy. So I think I'll need your help in finding reasons to hate your team. So far, I found :

1- Rick Nash. A player who didn't belong on Team Canada and who took Giroux's place. I guess I could hate him.

2- Dan Carcillo. I hope he becomes the Brad Marchand of this serie so we really have someone to hate!

3- Chris Kreider. I heard he can be a pest too? Bring it on!

4- The Rangers eliminated the Habs in 1996. Time for revenge!!!

5- The Rangers have only 4 Stanley Cups in 88 years? The least among the original six. Now that's something to laugh at.

6- Apparently, some New York restaurants are trying to replicate the "poutine" and are failing at it. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THAT!!!

But I'll stay classy for now and wish you a great series!! With face paced, spectacular and clean games. If you find any idea to add to my list, I'll take your suggestions! ;)

Habs fans, not trying to be an ass, but why do you guys boo without stopping every game? The Habs fans in this thread are cool, but the way the fans at the Belle Centre boo every time anyone breathes on a Hab makes you guys look AWFUL. It undermines your knowledge of the game, which is possibly the best in the league. I also can do without the "ole" chants, but whatever, I don't want to start THAT discussion because I don't want to cross a line.

When I'm watching a game i get annoyed at every single thing the fans of the other team are doing.

In reality, it's pretty cool. I love when fans are passionate like that. Like I said, during the game I'm a completely different monster, but I do think it's nice to have an arena full of people supporting their team like that. Over dramatic or not.
