Kinda disagree with this. Russian's are notorious flight risks. Murashov has already been relegated to the ECHL. If he is performing how he is now next year you gotta give him a shot.

And was fine with being in the ECHL. He's now in the AHL and continues to dominate. And he could very well earn the shot. Most goalies don't make the NHL right away. Spending 2-3 years in the AHL is hardly unusual. He's only in the ECHL due to our overwhelming number of good caliber goalies.

And he's specifically said how much he's enjoyed his time in the ECHL and how valuable it's been.

Yeah I don't see him being a risk. We don't have an established goalie blocking him. Maybe he could become discontented if he sees Blomqvist or Larsson come up and cement themselves as the #1 starter but I'm sure he's well aware that Jarry/Ned aren't the long term answers for the team.

He'd definitely get a 1 year deal as a UFA, but he's obviously cooked mentally at this point.

Murashov gives interviews all the time, most recently a few days ago where he talked about Jarry. He's happy to play anywhere and is more interested in learning about the country than where he's playing.

It depends on if the org wants Blom eligible for the WBS playoffs, then we might see Jarry up and Blom down near the TDL.

Speaking of lottery protection, imagine if the Pens had kept last year's pick like some in the fanbase/media wanted due to the late season surge just missing the playoffs.

We could've been staring down sending the as of now 9th pick in the draft to the Sharks (which is probable to end up even lower considering other team's current games in hand and the likelihood Dubas ships out Rakell and others at the deadline) instead of last year's 14th.

Would rather have Sam Dickinson than most of what would be available to us at that range.

Also probably forces Kyle to actually be creative and try to contend this year..
