Minnesota just tuned him out. His style is like that, at some point the players are going to tire of him. The coach they've replaced him with has never made it out of the first round either in 8-9 years of NHL coaching.Dean Evason is not an elite coach! The man has never won anything He lost in the 1st round 3 season in a row and then the Wild fired him last season after starting the season 5-10-4. Yeah is an elite coach alright!
come on the man has an 8-15 record in the playoffs and while with Minnesota he never got past the 1st round!!! What the hell are you talking about getting the most out of his players???
All fair points, howeverTeam scoring has completely dried up. That isn't on the goalies.
We have multiple problems at the moment and that is why things seem so desperate.
Scoring 5 on 5 has been an issue since November. With the specialty teams laying an egg, we have nothing to hang our hat on.
They are not playing at .666% for the rest of the seasonIt is just a slump. 3-4 happen to every year and to every team.
the next 2-3 games will be key. I fully expect a bounce back. I can see a 2-1, 1-1-1 scenario and all will be well.
The Sens have now gone through 3 such slumps (and 2 hot streaks). They are pretty much finished with them. I can see the remaining 41 games being far more balanced and results being a consistent 4 Points for every 3 games played.
Take a real close look at NHL trends. Almost inevitably a pattern of; slump, hot streak and extended flat period circulate for every team, throughout the season. And in 3-4 cycles of 15-20 games.
Alex... a consistent 4 p for every 3 games, does not mean no exception. There will be the odd 3 in 3, or maybe 2 in 3.They are not playing at .666% for the rest of the season
Only 5 teams have done that this season so far VGK, WAS,WIN,LA,MINN
We are 17th in the league not top 3
You have to score to win but 2 goals on 5 shots is not the best way to motivate your team to play lose and score goals.Team scoring has completely dried up. That isn't on the goalies.

Thanks for tuning down by A LOTAlex... a consistent 4 p for every 3 games, does not mean no exception. There will be the odd 3 in 3, or maybe 2 in 3.
What I don't see is 0 for 3.
I can see the next 41 games, thus 13.7 sets of 3 to be
8 sets at 4 p
3 sets at 3 p
2.7 sets at 2 p
and so 46-47 points. Or about 0.56-0.58 win ratio. That is more than possible. At present 15 teams are doing this good or better.
And that will get them to 87-88 points and comfortably in.
These are the results that you will get season after season when you don't have any high end talent but half the roster is paid like superstars.
This Team is very loyal to its trend that is going on for past 3-4 years now
Get to the bottom of the league
Stay there or win a few games and get close to a wildcard spot
Start to losing again and end up in bottom 5
Go on a good stretch to finish the season just to get out of the basement
He is man, the guy gets a lot out of players and gets them to the playoffs, his track record is miles better then GreenyDean Evason is not an elite coach! I mean, they can't be worse, so I guess you're right.Home off a long road trip probably tried to do too much family stuff or exhale/relax. Stinky one. I predict they will be better next game.
Dorion built the 2017 team...except without Karl and Andy. No cap, no picks, no prospects, roster with holes and no way to fix them. I have an odd feeling that Staios really doesn't like the players that where here when he arrived, outside of Brady, Stu, Sandy and maybe Pinto. This includes whatever bodies are in the Ahl. If Norris, Bath, Greig and Chabot are all available it wouldn't surprise me a bit.I mean, they can't be worse, so I guess you're right.
The team has lost 6 of the last seven games. The “team" has not looked sharp in this stretch. All fair points, however
- Sens power-play is ranked 8th overall/ ranks 6th overall in power-play goals scored ...shows the teams isn't impotent when it comes to scoring....when a team is on a power-play playing defence /goaltending take a back seat
- despite getting subpar goal-tending for many games the Sens GA is ranked 10th lowest overall, however the penalty-kill is ranked 24th (worst) overall (goalies are often the teams best PKillers)
- despite having a power-play in the top10 the Sens GF ranks 23rd lowest overall...makes you wonder if the reason behind it has something to do with the team not playing loose / with any confidence since they cant trust the goalie
lmao, the doomers are out in full force again
The teams PP has disappears for the last 10 games or whatever...8 total goals (all situations) in 9 games someone said? How about the PP lifts the team and they score a couple on a night the goalie may not be sharp? All fair points, however

By any measure, the PK has been awful. Cross crease passes and easy setups in the high slot is not on the goalie. Beer league guys could score on many of the set-ups we allow.- despite getting subpar goal-tending for many games the Sens GA is ranked 10th lowest overall, however the penalty-kill is ranked 24th (worst) overall (goalies are often the teams best PKillers)
How does someone missing an open not, not getting a rebound, missing a breakaway, etc...have anything to do with the goalie? That is a total cop out and takes the onus off the top paid players on this team.- despite having a power-play in the top10 the Sens GF ranks 23rd lowest overall...makes you wonder if the reason behind it has something to do with the team not playing loose / with any confidence since they cant trust the goalie
I need to watch, but from listening to the radio, the team seemed to be under siege and giving up good looks all over the place. Where the 2 goals both breakaway? Sure, you want a stop, but guys are good. You have to score to win but 2 goals on 5 shots is not the best way to motivate your team to play lose and score goals.
