a couple quick notes:
*Zetterlund is his best friend in hockey. He’s going to be bummed to leave the young guys but stoked out rejoining Zetts
*Ek is a very, very good two-way forward. He played on our shutdown line with Wennberg. How does a good two-way shutdown forward get -28 or whatever? Well our shutdown pair was Sam Dickinson and Vincent Desharnis, and our goalies are mediocre
*He’s slippery, hard to hit, and does this circle around the net and pass it from where he came. Creates a lot of nice opportunities
*Good puck carrying, good playmaking, and vision
*Shot isn’t good, however, he had a wrist injury (playing for Sweden), and I’m optimistic he’ll improve that with health.
*Plays some pk minutes and he’s a high effort guy
*Haltunnen is 6’3 and has a cannon- probably one of the hardest shots outside the NHL- look up his playoff performances with the London Knights. He’s been developing a bit of a ‘b game’ in the AHL. Bit gritty, bit dirty. He’s slow. If he fixes that or improves the b game he could be a 20 goal third liner. I had him as trade bait, because I don’t believe he gets there, but it’s too soon to say.
-In drafting Svoboda, I think Grier was hoping for an Ostapchuk type. Don’t think he gets there, but he scores a lot of key goals internationally and in college from the fourth line. Good size. Maybe, but I don’t think he makes it.
