Speculation: Sens need to trade a core player

I don't think he's available, and he's definitely not a core player on the Sens, but I'd love to have Ridly Greig on the Jets, for a little sandpaper. I'd give up a prospect like Chibrikov for him, who would probably score more goals in the NHL, even this year, just to have that kind of forward to add to the Jets depth this year, an energy winger, who could play center in a pinch.

I really thought a goalie would get them over it. I know they don’t have a ton of star power but I’ve been convinced up until now they had the right pieces.

Norris has negative value but I’d move from him anyways due to cap hit. I’d also get Chabot out of there. They need a big, physical force from the back end.

I wouldn't say they suck, their psyche is just damaged.
And it is an extremely difficult thing to over turn. Just look at what has gone on in Buffalo. Look at all the dudes that got shipped out and have completely turned their careers around since then. The losing culture is big and ingrained in this Sens team. Anytime there is a bit of pressure on them to perform they fold.

Name the price for Brady Tkachuk to Buffalo because, as I am a Sabres fan, I would pay big. I'm guessing no way Peterka wouldn't be in deal for the reunite with Stutzle. But what other big name? I would offer Owen Power in a deal like that too. I can't see Thompson or Dahlin going the other way unless it was mostly straight up for him.

Personally, I would never move him if I was Ottawa.

I think Tkachuk does get moved...somewhere he isn't "the guy" but "a guy" or "one of the guys".

If he could go somewhere and be the Kessel to a Malkin and/or Crosby would be ideal.

Not sure how many places in the league have that type of landing spot waiting for him and/or the assets to actually land him.

Sens just need to be patient.

Trading Norris for a more physical equivalent would probably the the only move to make.

Akin to Chychrun for Jensen.

Although I still think so many players have underachieved in the face of weak goaltending.

Think of NJD when they had that terrible goaltending season. Almost all our stats are near the top 3rd of the league except goaltending. Ottawa literally lost 4-5 games they should have won without question. 1st Vegas game, Philly game, NYR game and couple more.

Just be patient.

Those damn goalies just always for some reason forget how to play when they get to Ottawa!

No way could it be a team issue.

What has he done to do that? He hasn't shown to be part of the solution. Not like he is some top end NHL player who can't win due to management. The guy doesn't show up consistently or in big moments for his team.
IDK about that, his 8 OT game winners, might suggest otherwise considering he's already tied Walt and beats Matthew handily
